Mike, what does it matter? All you need to know is that you're a player and trying to survive.... and if you're scum, you'd better hide. Now we start this as soon as Sirius checks in.

Some basic rules specifically for this game for you to digest while you wait on Sirius.
1. Moderators decision is final. No debate, forum, pm or otherwise will be entered into for the duration of the game.
2. Be patient. Mistakes are inevitable as this is my first mod but help is on hand. I will if need seek advice so if necessary But this takes time. Make allowances.
3 A day will last exactly 10 days. This will start at 00.01 am GMT on the date that the scene is posted and finish at 23.59pm GMT 14 days later.
4 A night will last 3 days. This will start from the time the lynch is recognised by the moderator posting in the forum "that is a lynch"and will finish exactly 72 hours later. No night activities will be accepted after this time.
5 Voting will be first past the post. Either by one player having a majority of votes, or one player having most votes at the beginning of night. In the case of a tie at the beginning of night, all tied player will be entered into a tie break. Only those players will be able to be voted for and the tie break will last 48 hours. If no decision can be reached after 3 tie breaks the moderator will decide by rolling a single dice for each player. Lowest will be lynched. See Rule 1.
6. Do not post or refer to pm's from the moderator or other players.
7. General night talk, zzz or other comments will be tolerated but be sensible. A lynched player may give their goodbyes but do not refer to either the lynch or the game.
8. As a general rule 1 post per 24 hours is acceptable but more are encouraged. The moderator will prod and an ackowledgement expected within the next 12 hours. Replacement or modkill will the be exercised.
9. Have fun but try to keep spamming to a reasonable level. Once again the moderator will intervene if this is having an negative effect on the game. Moderator discretion will be used here. See Rule 1.

Sirius has said he will be along and join either late tonight or early tomorrow. With my time difference that will cost us another day so we will start and get the intros over. Daytime begins. (Night. Thursday march 20th. 23.59 GMT)

No Mac for Donald
It was a depressing day in Auchterbucky. The grey sky and freezing wind was complemented by the stickiest sleet imaginable. Only the bravest ventured out, the old townies, wrapped up against the weather going about their business whatever that maybe. Even they were thin on the ground that particular morning, forced undercover by the waves crashing over the old harbour wall engulfing what was left of the once proud fishing fleet, now just a few inshore crabbers and a couple of pleasure boats that took tourists out to the rock in summer.
From the vantage point on the cliffs you could see right down the High Street and the windows of the few shops left open in the town. Too early for the Hotel bar but from the steamed up windows of the coffee shop, evidence of where the hardiest of the towns people were hiding. A company van from the engineering company building the new wind farm was just pulling off heading back to the old RAF listening post which they used for accommodation for their workers. Between them and there the road and bridge and the golden arches that caused all the trouble.
It had all started friendly enough. The old lord had died and his son had sold out to the Mad Arab. At first everything seemed to benefit the town, a luxury hotel and spa being built, jobs for everybody until the bombshell. There would be no access to the Arabs land from Auchterbucky. The bridge was coming down and the road closed to make way for the golf course. The Arab seemed genuinely surprised at the hostility, a fifty mile round trip just to get to McDonalds at the motorway seemed small price to pay for the benefits he was bringing to the area. At first he tried persuasion, then bribery and when that didn’t work he just got nasty. Cars were stopped on “his “ road at night, Drivers held up till the Mcflurrys melted, then the landslide that blocked the road for months only opened when the local magistrate for once, apparently he and his wife got cold fries, sided with the town.
Then one day the Arab just disappeared allegedly having sold up, nobody knew who owned what but still the sinister occurrences kept happening. There was even talk of McDonalds staff being threatened with a gun and told to stop giving out extra barbecue sauce but worse, to refuse to remove the Gherkin on request. Several times the townsfolk had decided to take matters into their own hands but on every occasion they found themselves thwarted. Somebody was sleeping with the enemy and Auchterbucky had its own way of dealing with that. Nothing was going to stand between them and a Big Mac. The Scum hunt was on.
