Looks like team 1 is going for max medals, team mate, freestyle, crossmap etc. No law against inviting folks to games. Team CC has repeatedly shot down requests to set rank limitations for games. Premium cadets pay the same as premium majors and need to have the same right to join games, both by searching public games, and by accepting invites. Clan mod keefie, please quote and link exactly what rule team 1 is breaking.

medals or no medals i do not think that the invite system was meant for the uses to which it is being put here. This is new for alstergren as he normally just joins low ranking games.
Highest score 3372 02/08/12

Surely it qualifies as gross abuse of the game?

I think it is just rather low behaviour.

Is it against the rules? Well, I rememember another player getting into all sorts of trouble for inviting a great selection of ranks to his games (which i think were 1vs.1). In this case, the very lowest of ranks are being invited to a quads freestyle (etc) game, which is surely worse and in my view an abuse of the game.

I wonder if apparent medal chasing means that farming is somehow acceptable?

But really I just posted it as a basic 'naming and shaming' exercise. Others are of course free to take it further...

I really don't know if this has broken rules or not. But I do know that it's pretty distasteful :(

Keefie, you say it's not the only one  Maybe a hall of fame/shame should be set up. Kudos Mr C, you're right medal hunting is no excuse for this behaviour.

I'm struggling to believe there are people that care so much they do things like that to gain rank/medals!

They've now done it with JR24 for the Monthly Challenge. How does this not constitute as farming?

Lmao! That's a lame excuse. If that's what you really believe then fine, but that's not what alstergren's doing.

There is always a mentor on both teams in SoC, and there wouldn't be any non-SoC players in the game unless it was a SoC team vs public, which this is not.

Not to mention the KotM games for this months challenge.

Actually, I noticed that your latest page of games all seems perfectly proper. I wonder if we will ever find out why 4 random low ranks were invited to such a game?

Well I arrived at this thread hoping to read about Changsha having done some disgraceful thing with some person (or persons) unknown during his recent trip to the land of the lady boys.

How boring is all this!

So the kangaroo court of pompous gits, and anally retentive tut tutters has met. Everyone is sure it is bad taste, and they would never suggest that people of a lower rank get a chance at taking their points. No rules have been broken, a lot of mud has been thrown. <yawns>

Bogan notes that those that care so much about what people think in public, are often jealous or resent those that don't care what people think. So we have a lot of bored people who rather than play the game, play politics having a massive circle jerk about how someone has "infringed" on the unwritten "norms" of acceptable behaviour(whilst still playing within the rules). Any of you have the balls to challenge alster to games? Didn't think so. Did all of the invited players join the game? No, surprising since some of the moralising nimbies* seem to think if a higher ranked person invites someone lower ranked to a game it is putting a gun to their head.

So josko.ri invited me to a poly quads game, with settings I'm not that good at(am I good at any settings is a question not to be asked)........ Should I be starting a thread in general, flaming/naming/shaming him for inviting someone lower ranked to games? I chose to join the game, but REMEMBER please most vocal nimbies, I had the option of declining the invite.

At least my idle curiosity has been satisfied in one respect. Wondering why keefie and coffeeboy don't get along. Turns out is because they are both so similar.

*NIMBY word of the day: August 06, 2008 in the urbandictionary.
1. Nimby - Not In My Back Yard; someone who opposes anything built right by where they live.
NIMBYs cause a lot of things to not get done.
2. Nimby - Used to describe a person or an attitude, NIMBY is an abbreviation for Not In My Back Yard. A NIMBY might agree that a community or a neigborhood needs a half-way house for convicts transitioning back to society, but doesn't want it placed too close to his or her own home or in the neighborhood. property values. too much traffic. ugly woobly boxes
Although the community council supported the zoning change, the NIMBYs argued strongly against the expansion of the trailer park

That is the american version. In Australia a nimby is a special type of faux liberal pest. A mouthy hypocrite who preaches and extoles the value/justice of any on trend social justice issue. Gay rights/marriage, refugee resettlement, the environment, urban sprawl, etc. Happy to talk gay rights, would not want gays married in their church or local park(there are a lot of older people in the neighbourhood we must be sensitive to their feelings). The worst of hypocrite as they actively obstruct that which they profess to support. City dwellers who declaim bush fire hazard reduction strategies as interfering with nature, then deplore the tragic waste of lives, and property(especially if affects their share portfolio) when the inevitable bushfire rips through the surplus fuel... Preach compassion, yet own shares in morally bankrupt insurance companies and are active in voting/retaining hard line responsibility deniers onto the company board.

About time someone brought up this despicable practice of inviting people to games when they are of a differing rank to you !
I find it nothing but distasteful when a cook, private, captain, colonel, brigadier, or general etc... invites me to a game. I mean really !
who the f*ck do they think they are, wanting to play someone of another rank ? This practice should be stopped and abolished forthwith within the site, it might possibly lead to fun !
