Official Passport Challenge: Year in Review 2013
Brought to you by the Entertainment Team

NO SIGN-UPS REQUIRED - Everyone is eligible!
Please read this entire post before asking any questions!

You may remember that we called last year's Christmas event "The Last CChristmas Ever." For that reason, we won't be doing a Christmas event this year. :(
Instead, we'll be doing something we've never really done before: a look back at all that 2013 has brought CC - for better, for worse, or for both!

Any way you slice it, 2013 was certainly a very interesting year here on CC.
We've seen highs and lows, hellos and goodbyes, and plenty of new features!
And now, let's take a moment to relive all our fondest CC memories from this year.

The Challenge
We're giving everyone on CC a (virtual) passport, and we challenge each of you to get as many stamps as you possibly can.
How do you get stamps, you ask?
By winning games on specially designated maps and/or settings, of course!

Stamps
There are 16 stamps in total, divided into 4 categories:

A: Farewells - win 1 game on each map to get the stamp for that map:
1. Gilligan - Island of Doom
2. lackattack - Treasures of Galapagos
3. AndyDufresne - Supermax: Prison Riot!
4. rdsrds2120 - Conquer Man
5. El_Jefe - Cuban Missile Crisis

B: Bots:
6. 3 wins over whamBot
7. 2 wins over SassboT
8. 1 win over saxibot

C: Gameplay Settings - 1 win on each:
9. Polymorphic 2, 3, AND 4 (must win on all 3 to earn the stamp)
10. Parachute reinforcements
11. Zombie Spoils
12. No reinforcements
13. 4 OPTIONS - Pick ONE:
  1. A 9-player game on a map from list A
  2. A 10-player game on a map from list B
  3. A 11-player game on a map from list C
  4. A 12-player game on any map NOT on list D

Andy dufresne left in 2012... Also Gillgan is back on team cc, so it's not really a farewell lol.

Yeah, but it was the end of 2012, and I didn't want him to be left out.
I don't think Gilligan expected to rejoin TeamCC when he stepped down - and he serves in a very different capacity now.

I don't get the Farewells.. Do you have to beat that person or just win on the map?

Also, I echo jon's and jd's questions.

Good stuff guys. :D While reading through this I was like, "Great, excellent, I'll have wins on these this month." and then saw that you had to start each of them beginning now. haha :( Oh well. This should be interesting!

What I do is keep a PM to myself keeping a record of everything. Just cross out the things you have completed, ad make a game record to back up what you cross off. You can steal this format, or use your own. Just thought it would help, CC members!

I'm guessing you have to track it yourself and they will check at the end and issue the medals etc. to whoever has qualified.

Good questions, one and all!! Where there are questions, there shall be answers:

Jdsizzleslice wrote:So the games don't have to be CREATED on the 16th, just STARTED on the 16th, right...
If they are created on or after the 16th, they will definitely count - as long as they start in 2013.
If they were created before the 16th, it's a bit of an iffy proposition - bear with me, and I'll explain.
Since it would be far too much work for me to go into every game on each eligible map and/or setting to see when it started, I'm doing it by game number.
For each map and/or setting, there is a game X and a game Y (X and Y are actual game numbers).
Last night, I went through and found, for each setting, the game with the highest game number of all active and/or finished games that started on the 15th or earlier. That game is game X.
I will log in as early as I possibly can on January 1 and create a game. That game (which I will then drop) will be game Y - for all maps and settings.
For each setting, every game whose game number is lower than Y AND higher than that setting's X will count for this challenge.
Hope you got all that - but don't worry too much about it if you didn't.
In the meantime, I will see if it is possible to search games by start date - which would make this infinitely easier for all of us. I'll keep you posted on that.

jonofperu wrote:So no games previously played count then? All have to be started within the window?
I think (at least, I hope) that my answer to JD's question will answer this question as well.

jonofperu wrote:Do bot games count for other stamps (reinforcements, etc)?
jon found the answer to this in my OP, but just for anyone else who is wondering:
YES. Games can absolutely count for multiple stamps.

iAmCaffeine wrote:I don't get the Farewells.. Do you have to beat that person or just win on the map?
Just win on the map.

dazza2008 wrote:Can the games be speed games or do they have to be casual?
They can absolutely be speed games, but casual is fine, too.

bahrain wrote:do these have to be tournament games? or is any public game fine?
Public, private, tournament, clan war - doesn't matter. All games will be considered.

dazza2008 wrote:

Well, you don't HAVE to track it yourself, but you're more than welcome to - in fact, I encourage it!
We will check all games on January 1 (or ASAP thereafter). All games that have finished by that time will be evaluated at that time - all other eligible games will be monitored as they finish.
You will receive your prize (if you've earned one) once all eligible games you are in have finished.

I hope that answers all your questions, but if you have others, don't hesitate to ask!

True that - I didn't expect to come back.

This looks really fun! I'm excited to start this.

I think I had a question when I first looked at this, but forgot what it was now...oh well.

I've started a triples zombie/parachute game on Doodle Earth to get the 13th stamp - Game 13744540. Anyone and everyone welcome to join!

Yes it will, but I think the main selling point is the 13th stamp. 10 and 11 can be achieved by simply playing 1v1

Absolutely - and the 10-player game can be a 5-team dubs if you'd like.
Each member of the winning team will receive all stamps the game qualifies them for.
I do believe I said that somewhere in my OP, but please let me know if I didn't.

Couldn't you have used the MAX game number from all your findings of X rather than having an X per category? Just throwing that out there to make things easier for you. :D

I considered it, but that would disqualify a number of games that started on the 16th or were still waiting for players when I looked.
If this is more work for me, it's more work for me - it's my idea, and I know what I'm getting myself into.
I appreciate your concern, but I know what I'm doing and why.
