Current standings: SoC 1v1 Ladder
We, here in the SoC, have Standard/Term and Team training, but how about some 1v1 action? We started the SoC 1v1 Ladder several months ago in the Grads Lounge and are ready to unleash it for everyone in the SoC. You won't have any teachers to help give advice...you compete on your own skill. Believe me, you will get better the more you play. I know I personally need more 1v1 practice. If you're interested, sign up below.
The Society of Cooks Official 1v1 Ladder Rules:
(revised June 9, 2015)
1. The Ladder was originally generated by a player’s Conquer Club score during the initial sign-up period. Any player who signs up from now on will be placed at the bottom of the Ladder and have to work their way up.
2. Any member of the SoC may join the Ladder. Rule #1 does apply. Freemiums may join the Ladder. SoC Students will have to meet the prerequisites before being allowed to join.
3. All Ladder challenges must be posted in this topic thread AND you must send the player you are challenging a PM or post on their wall as well. No other challenges from other threads or PMs will be accepted.
4. All matches are best two (2) out of three (3) games.
5. All games will be on Random maps. Each player is allowed to choose the settings for his/her home map/game. The CHALLENGER must create the third map/game with the following settings: Auto, Seq, Esc, Chained, Sunny, No Trench, No Turn Limit, and No Poly.
6. Polymorph games are allowed. Poly games CAN NOT be 4v4 poly or trench. All other game settings are fine.
7. Freemiums may set up one game at a time.
8. You can only challenge someone who is up to and no more than five (5) rungs ahead of you. For example, you are currently ranked #14…you can only challenge #13, #12, #11, #10, or #9.
9. You can only challenge one player at a time.
10. You cannot challenge someone who is currently being challenged by another player.
11. If you challenge someone AND win, you take over their Ladder rung. The loser will lose one spot on the Ladder.
12. If you challenge someone AND lose, you will retain your Ladder rung, but you cannot re-challenge that player until after you have challenged someone else. For example, you are #9 and challenge and lose to the #4 player, you cannot challenge the #4 player again, until you challenge either #5, #6, #7 or #8 player (only one of them needs to be challenged).
13. “12 Hour Fog Courtesy” – The first player in a foggy game must either:
A) Wait 12 hours for the opponent to get a snapshot; or
B) Post in the game chat what their first move was.
This only applies to the first turn of each game. The second player does not need to post their first move.
14. No matches can be reported until all games are completed. The winner of the match must report the win to the Forum.
15. You can challenge someone who is currently challenging someone else. For example, Tom (#10) challenges Dick (#8)…who is currently challenging Harry (#5).
16. If you challenge someone and win AND that person, who is also challenging someone, beats their opponent, you do NOT double jump. For example, Tom (#10) beats Dick (#8) who also beats Harry (#5)…Tom goes to #8, Dick goes to #5, and Harry goes to #6.
17. If the challenged player (higher rank) wins, that player will move up one spot on the Ladder as a reward. The only exception is the #2 thru #5 players MUST challenge the #1 player and win to achieve the #1 spot.
18. The #2, #3, #4, #5, or #6 player may call “DIBS” to challenge the #1 player if the #1 player is currently being challenged by someone in the Top 6. If the player calling “DIBS” falls out of the Top 6, he/she also loses their “DIBS” to play the #1 player. There will only be one “DIBS” at a time.
19. If a challenge is declined or not answered/accepted within seven (7) days, it will be treated as though the challenger won the match and the challenged player will be charged with a “FORFEIT”.
20. Three FORFEITS and a player will be removed from the Ladder permanently.
21. A challenge may be delayed if both players can agree on a start time (in case of vacations, clan challenges, work obligations, real life, etc.).
22. Sitters are NOT allowed, unless pre-approved by an Admin.
23. A player may request a hiatus from the Ladder if they go on vacation or holiday by stating so on the Ladder thread.
a. This hiatus cannot last more than fourteen (14) consecutive days. The player on “Vacation” or “Hiatus” can be passed by players who successfully win their own challenges. For example, I’m #15 and I go on vacation. While I’m gone, #16 and #17 win their challenges and pass me, I then drop down accordingly.
b. This protects the vacationing player from being assessed a forfeit.
c. The vacationing player must post in the Ladder thread or send a PM to celliottii they have returned.
d. You can skip over a player on hiatus to challenge the next player on the Ladder.
23. You cannot challenge a player that is currently listed on the Ladder as being either on “Vacation” or on “Hiatus”.
24. If a player is on "Hiatus", that rung can be skipped when issuing a challenge, but by only one rung. For example, Tom is on Hiatus at #10. Dick is at #15, and #14, #13, #12 and #11 are currently being challenged by other players. Dick can jump over Tom and challenge Harry at #9.
25. When the current #1 player loses a challenge for the #1 position, he/she will be immediately placed at the bottom of the Ladder.
26. All decisions by the Admins of the Ladder are final.
The Ladder is currently active, so any new players will be placed at the bottom...you'll have to fight your way up.
It's very simple. You challenge someone (or can be challenged by someone). All matches are best 2 out of 3. Each player creates their own "home" map, with the Challenger creating a random map with specific settings. The winner moves up...the loser stays where they are at.
We are also giving out medals for consecutive win streak and defending the #1 position! Medals will work like this and the names are subject to change:
1. Bronze Ladder Defender Achievement – defend the #1 position from 5 unique challengers
2. Silver Ladder Defender Achievement – defend the #1 position from 10 unique challengers
3. Gold Ladder Defender Achievement – defend the #1 position from 25 unique challengers
4. Platinum Ladder Defender Achievement – defend #1 position from 40 unique challengers
With the Platinum medal, you will also be dubbed, “King/Queen of the Ladder” AND receive 3 months Premium membership for free
• Please note, you can lose your #1 spot, regain it later, and not have to start over.

A win is defeating your opponent in the traditional challenge (best of three games). You will receive a medal for the following:
1. Bronze Win Streak – win 10 matches in a row
2. Silver Win Streak – win 20 matches in a row
3. Gold Win Streak – win 30 matches in a row
4. Platinum Win Streak – win 40 matches in a row AND receive 3 months of Premium membership for free
As an SoC Student, there are certain prerequisites you have to possess to join the Ladder:
1. You must over have 100 completed CC games with 95% or higher on turns taken.
2. Must be at least Sergeant level when you enter the Ladder.
3. Have completed at least 5 SoC games (Basic or Team).
4. Must have won at least 1 SoC Training game.
All SoC Students will be verified before being allowed to participate in the Ladder.
All SoC Grads and Teachers are exempt from the prerequisites.
If you're interested, sign on up! You'll have to work your way from the bottom. Do you have what it takes to claim the top spot?
Special thanks goes to [player]Celliottii[/player] for his hard work in basically doing everything related to the SoC Grads Ladder, including tracking games, setting up the spreadsheet, revising and consolidating the rules, kicking macbone's rear in gear, and generally being an awesome human being!
