The Settlers style map

Post by Blakkrose »

Hello guys,
Waiting for my map The Temple of Jinn continue the process of creating a new idea I have in the pipeline.
I want to make a map in The Settlers style.
I have already prepared all the buildings that will insert in the production chain and I found a good image in cartoon style on which to implement the project.
The map is located in the Drakor server1 page.
http://www.drakor.com/screenshots.php
I have found no trace of copyright nor any address to write to ask for permission to use it.
Think you could use?
Let me know what you think.
As soon as I have your positive opinion will start to work

If these are screenshots taken of a game played on-line or on a computer at home, there will be a copyright issue, whether you can see it or not. If the makers of Drakor.com have neglected to put a copyright notice on their work, you might be legally entitled to steal it, but it seems wrong to me. Also, I don't think Conquer Club wants to have to put a big C in a circle on every map image it uses now.

It appears to be an island...
Not that hard to randomly draw up your own island...
Do not see any reason why you need to copy someone else even if it is not copy righted..

You're right, but what I liked the graphic style.
I have already put to work to change the island so that it is not recognizable.
Also I need a wider ground.
An island is too small to hold all the buildings I have in mind!
As soon as possible I will create a new thread with the project.

New artwork will avoid copyright issues, provided you also change the text.

Do we talk here about The Settlers by bluebyte or ? It could be fun, you'd have to acquire forester and woodcutter to use sawmill, have a farm and water to use mill, have mill to feed pig farm etc... lots of XML though :)

Well, mapmakers have waited for ages for the XML updates that make these conditional features possible. I'm glad someone plans to use them.
