tkr's Baltic Showdown Redux (1900+) [CANCELED]
I'm going to run another tournament with the same/similar set up to my previous Baltic Showdown tournament. I'd like to try for 36 players.
All games will be 6 player standards on Baltic Crusades. Settings will be automatic, sequential, no spoils, chained, foggy, no trench, 30 Round limit.
The exact structure depends of course on how many people sign up, but for the previous iteration of this tournament, there were 18 players, so I'll use that as the example. Round 1 has the 18 players split into 3 groups of 6. Each group plays 3 games against each other. The 4 players with the highest scores move on to the next round. Round 2 has the 12 remaining players split into 2 groups of 6, each group plays 3 games against each other. The 3 highest scoring players move onto round 3. Round 3 has the 6 remaining players playing 5 games against each other. The player with the highest score wins the tournament. All games are played simultaneously.
That will be the basic idea of the tournament, although it will change if we get more or less players that sign up.

Scoring will be much the same as in the previous tournament.
The winning player gets 6 points.
Fifth player eliminated gets 5 points.
Fourth player eliminated gets 4 points.
Third player eliminated gets 3 points.
Second player eliminated gets 2 points.
First player eliminated gets 1 point.
In the event that the Round limit determines the victor of the match, then points will be distributed based on troop count. So, the person with the highest troop count won the game and gets 6 points, the person with the second highest troop count gets 5 points, etc. If any player was eliminated prior to the round limit taking place, they will be scored based on when they were eliminated, and the remaining players will be scored based on troop count.
Now, all above was the scoring system for the previous tournament. The only problem is that the system seemed to encourage a lot of stacking and waiting for the round limit. So, in an effort to encourage more action in the games, I have instituted a couple of additional scoring rules that I believe will achieve just that.
Each kill is now worth 1 additional point.
Should the game reach the round limit, every player that is still alive shall have one point taken away from their score for that game. So, if you're already eliminated and the game reaches the round limit, you will not be penalized for that.

In the event of an end of tournament tie, the tied players will play 3 matches head to head on Baltic with the same settings. Best 2/3 wins the tournament.
In the event of a tie anywhere else in the tournament, no matter how many players, one head to head match will be played on Baltic with the same settings, with the winner taking all. Or, if there needs to be more than one winner, then it will follow the same scoring system as the regular tournament.

No freemiums.
Must have a score of 1900 or higher.
Would prefer turns taken greater than 97%, although I can make exceptions to that rule if I so choose.
Must not have acted poorly or deadbeated in a prior tournament of mine.
If interested, please sign up with your name and score.
Oh, btw, I will be on vacation from June 9th-15th, so this tournament will not start until June 16th at the earliest, no matter when sign ups conclude. Thanks.

In Please,
You may also consider a 30 round limit instead of 20. This will open things up a bit and prevent stacking.
Because this map has so many neutrals to grab for bonuses, by the time you are set, it's not worth attacking anybody anymore. 30 rounds should fix this.
Thanks,
TX

You're both in, thanks.
And agreed, 30 will open it up even more and encourage more action. The games in the first tournament could get boring just stacking and waiting, so I'm willing to try it. Changed to 30 round limits.

I'll join, if you don't mind my score - it's not much to look at.

Sorry, it's a 1900+ tournament. If you can get up to 1900 or higher, then post back and you'll be in.
