The nice thing would simple have been to tell him to discuss it in chat and let him know that SD was against the rules. I doubt he was trying to break the rules since he posted on the wall for all the world to see.

You'd be surprised how stupid people are. Besides, it's against the rules to offer truces or talk about a particular game outside of gamechat. So the OP did the right thing.

swahoogie admits in the chat to sending the p.m. about a truce. "2013-01-14 06:38:30 - swahoogie: I was seeing if you were open to a truce, any details would have been posted here in chat". Looks like a clear violation of the rule against SD
