Update 11-17 1 game remaining to finish. It likes group a will need a tie breaker for 2nd place. 2nd round games will be after thanksgiving for sure.
11-2 Please note the new tie break procedure.
When CC started there were a few simple maps, there was no fog, there were no medals, all the waiting games fit on one page and doubles was the way to play team games. I am holding my first tournament to remind me of when this site was simpler .....but I am not going solely old school as we will be playing this series with random partners to aid all in getting there multiple partner medal.
I need 16 players to claim they are the best old school players. Who is the best...this tourney will decide. There will be three rounds to this tournament. The first round will have 4 groups of 4, the second round 2 groups of 4 and the final round will havethe final four. Each round will consist of 9 games with 3 different partners once on each map. All games will be 4 player dubs.
1 point for win zero points for a loss, nice and simple. Top two in each group advance. Tie breakers will be settled on the old asia map now known as Far East. Most point in the last group wins.
Initial groups will be set up using random.org. 1st place and 2nd place from round 1 will be in opposite groups for round 2.
Points reset every round. No carryover. Earn your stripes every round.
Three games will start each week to keep the game load down. Premiums only please.
All maps will be maps from the early days of CC. The first round will have the simplest maps of the early days..the last round will have the complex maps, at least complex from the early days.
All games will be no cards, chained forts, in the sun. There was no trench or fog in the early days.

Africa
(Yeas these were considered complex maps)
Far East

For a 2 way tie for second place we will play a 3 game 1 vs 1 series to see who advances. I didnt think it was right to only play one game and as all are being played in sets of three I have decided this is best. Of course it will be on far east as planned early
There is a good possibility we could have a 3 way tie for either 1st or 2nd. I dont want to address it with a 3 player game.
I will use the following formula.
Rounds played in wins - rounds played in loses. The lowest score will be best.
ex. I won 2 games one in 6 rounds one in 4 rounds and lost in 5 rounds My score is 5
You won 2 games one in 4 rounds one in 15 rounds and lost in 5 rounds. Your score is 14.
I would advance as my kills were quicker and I fought harder in my losses..
For a three way tie for first.
The lowest score advances and wins the group. The other two will play in a 3 game tie breaker.
For a three way tie for 2nd the highest score is eliminated and the other two play a three way tie breaker.
