Welcome Comrades to the 72nd edition of the Newsletter :)

Well we are still steadfastly looking for Sully. We seek him there, we seek him there, but he is elusive and seems nowhere. If you are hiding him then ... but seriously Sully, wherever you are, your team are diligently marching on. Keeping in step, gathering the goss and working the words. We have a routine and won't let anyone get in the way of putting out the Dispatch ... ooh what's over there? No, must keep control!

This issue our very own Strategy Executive [player]Viceroy63[/player] is interviewed. I don't kinow what it is but each issue the newsletters get more personal and more gritty. [player]Viceroy63[/player] certainly holds back nothing! I won't try and precise it here, you need to read it all!

Meanwhile everyone else has been busy, busy, busy:

  • In the Mess Hall Saf gets all Mafiaso on it. I always thought that Benjamin Franklin had a monopoly on the lightening rod but I was oh so wrong.
  • Strategic Services gets all technological with video lessons! Now this alone is worth the price of your Dispatch. Watch carefully as [player]crazymilkshake5[/player] first loses then wins using his favourite strategy! [player]Viceroy63[/player] tells us what not to do on the first move and reports on the SoC score-board.
  • In War Games [player]DaveH[/player] brings us more wizardry with Excel while [player]WorldCup4James[/player] brings us tips on tournetiquette.
  • In Cartographic Surveillance [player]koontz1973[/player] both drags us visually into the Foundry with one hand and shows uis what's happening in there with the other. I have a look at Conquership from both a histo-copyright perspective and from my HIPPO analysis.
  • And finally, the Platoon Report has another Francophone special from [player]Quicksilver[/player] while our reporters [player]Chapcrap[/player] and [player]Wpbrj[/player] update us on the ICL vs Premier Legue and Clan League Divisional Semi's respectively. Time to have your say on the first and root for your favourit team on the second. And some teams are doing a brilliant job at upsets!

So, be like [player]Viceroy63[/player], who asserts:

I am the Lord of my vice and not the other way around.

Enjoy the fruit of our labouring fingers!

[spoiler=Interrogation of Viceroy63]Q. What is your favourite historical era?

What is my favorite historical era?

Let me say first that since this is probably the shortest interview on record and since the point of this whole thing is to get to know some more things about who I am and what I am about, I will use this forum to it's fullest extent so that for those who are interested in learning about me, you shall have it.

If I could to pick an era as my favorite, It would have to be the first century BC. To the first century AD. Because of this Jewish person Jesus Christ, who claimed to be God and for that reason alone was crucified to a cross by Rome at the insistence of the religious leaders of the time. For that alone, because this God/Man walked on the earth during that ere.

When I think of this, if it were anyone else, the religious leaders of the time would have said that he was simply insane or had a demon possession, and it would have gone no further. But for them to kill a supposedly “crazy person” only leads me to believe and it lends credence to the fact that Jesus Christ had to be God incarnated in the flesh. Otherwise we would never even have known about this supposedly "crazy" Jesus Christ person, today.

And by the way in those days you could not kill a crazy person or a demon possessed person. That is why there were so many of them around. It was against moral and legal laws to even touch harshly a crazy person. So why did they not just say he was crazy for claiming to be God? Because they also believe it was true. Because he spoke with authority and not as a crazy person or one of the religious hypocrites of the day. He also heal people of their infirmities and if that were not true then why do we count the years after his death?

“What if God were one of us? If he lived like one of us?”

But while this would be my favorite historical era as far as choosing an era, it would not be my favorite historical era to live in; Just to watch God die on a cross for the sins of us all. No, right now is my favorite historical era in which to live in.

I have often wondered what it would have been like to live through the American Civil War Era or the Great Depression of the 1930's or any of those times when man's survival instincts were put to the test. Sure many had to die but ultimately as a people and as a Nation we survived. We pulled together and forged stronger alliances with our neighbors to the point where we did not even need locks on our doors or needed to be afraid of our own neighbors. But today is a completely different world.

Today we face perhaps the greatest onslaught of tragedies that man will ever face in all of mankind's history on this planet. The things that man is capable of doing and will do very shortly, will change us forever, at the very core of our existence. It will mark humanity for ever. Should we survive it?

For the first time in human history we have the potential to Annihilate all of humanity from the face of the planet with a variety of Nuclear and Biological weapons. For the first time in human history have we tied all of our fates together in one universal economic system and become so dependent on it. For the first time in history have this world's religion ever had so much power to influence the masses through television and radio media. It seems like it is all coming together for one final slap in humanities face with “religious wars” leading the way.

Yet as the power of universal religion is on the rise and once again humanity will face the worse kind of wars, those of religious backing; And the World economy hangs teetering over a cliff like a school bus that lost control, ever ready to fall off of the cliff taking all of us with it; And North Korea and other nations just itching to launch some of their nuclear and biological arsenal, just asking for a reason to go to war; Yet some things stay the same.

Most people do not realize this but Europe is uniting in such a way as never before that will leave us all flabbergasted with our mouths opened wide in awe. A new Roman Empire will soon take shape and Germany seems to be leading the way. Could this be a fourth Reich? Or a New Holy Roman Empire about to crash the party in world scene. What ever it may be, it will dominate the world like no “Bonus Monkey” ever has.

Greater than anything that humanity has ever faced before, the soon coming era on this planet will see so much action, adventure and drama unfold as literally Billions of human lives will come to a quick and sudden end and the remainder left to suffer and try to tweak out a survival through it all.

At the same time we are also presently destroying the environment and all sea life through Oil spills and Radiation from Nuclear Power plants. The truth of the extent of the damage is just not being reported to a hysterical population. There has never been a time like this before and I seriously doubt that we shall ever see a time like this again. What is just ahead for us and our posterity and most likely will never come again is the epithet of what we really are in nature.

It will be terrible to witness and horrible to behold but it will also be the most exciting time in history to be alive in and to watch and to witness and to behold with one's own eyes. And should we survive the initial war that is about to break out suddenly and without warning on an unsuspecting humanity, then we shall also see not only how people will kill one another but also how they will show compassion and pull together as well in an effort to survive.

I can not travel back in time to see how people pulled together to survive the Holocaust or the Great Depression or the American Civil war that killed more people then WWI, WWII, The Vietnam and Korean wars all put together, but I will go through this era or I will die in it. But before I die, I will see it with my own eyes. I will, with any hope, witness all those end time prophecies just about to come together and unfold right before our very eyes. And that will be a terrible and at the same time a most exciting time to be alive in.

"10. More men died in the Civil War than any other American conflict, and two-thirds of the dead perished from disease.
Approximately 625,000 men died in the Civil War, more Americans than in World War I, World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War combined.
http://www.history.com/news/2011/05/10/ ... war-facts/

So what is my favorite era in history? [to be alive in]

The one that we will all be a part of very soon. The one that is just about to unfold.

Q. Who?
What?
When?
Where?
How?
(be creative)

What was the question

Q. How different is CC strategy [different] from actual military strategy?

I would not know much about that as I was never in the military or studied military strategy. But I would imagine that just the psychological factors alone make for one big difference. It can never be the same losing lives than losing points.

Q. Which historical military strategist do you think would be the best overall CC player and why?

First let me say that I believe that modern day generals if alive back then with the knowledge that they possess now would certainly put to shame any of the historical great leaders of the past. Simply because they studied the past and also Psychological Warfare and many things that were perhaps not considered then. Today's Generals do not need to play at Conquer Club for they play the real deal.

The Romans were the mightiest armies of their time. Cruel and vicious, their empire lasted for over a thousand years but everything they knew they learned from the Greeks before them, who learned it from the Persians before them, who learned it from the Babylonians, who learned it from the Assyrians....

So it was all built on past knowledge. So today's Military leaders would simply have to be the best. If asked which modern military leader, I would say General Patton because he really kicked ass in Europe and Germany (WWII). But which historical leader as in of the past...

I would have to go with Cyrus the Great. The First Medo/Persian Emperor was the one who built the empire that Alexander had conquered. He built it not by taking it but by giving it to his subjugates. This was something that had never been done before and will most likely never done again. Cyrus did not see himself as a conqueror but as a liberator of nations from their tyrannical rulers. It was Cyrus who freed the Israelite slaves from Babylon and even help them to rebuild their temple and their city of Jerusalem.

So if anyone would become the CC Conqueror and hold that title indefinitely, it would seem to me that it would have to be this Genius who with original thinking and much diplomacy formed an empire by freeing others rather than by enslaving them to his will.

Q. Are you really a viceroy? Or are you a vice-Roy? If so, will you ever be El Roy?

No; I am not really a Viceroy. I believe that originally Viceroy is a brand of Cigarettes from the 1960's or so. The Term “Viceroy” is used in the Star Trek Movie, “Nemesis” and means pretty muck like Lord, or "2nd" At least according to the movie.

The 63 is the year in which I was born. I think it's too late for me to be an El Roy or even have an El Roy. But in Spanish El Roy means, “The Roy.” So I don't think that I will ever be “The Roy!” But it's sound like a pretty cool title to shoot for. "THE ROY!"

Q. What are your favorite ingredients on a sandwich? A pizza? Lasagna?

Office of Strategic Services (OSS) Classified Secrets will not be discussed in this interview. Sorry.

Q. Mexican or Chinese?

Sorry for the confusion mate; I am Puerto Rican. ;)

Q. What's your favorite drink?

Water mostly. But sometimes when I get a little crazy, I throw in a bit of Tang Drink Mix and some ice. Then it's like, Watch out babe! :D

Q. What happened to the first 62 Viceroys?

They were eliminated from the game. It was their own fault. They were doing well until Trench Warfare came around and they could not grasp the totally new concept of the game. I kept telling them, "Stacks are useless, focus on an area and consolidate your forces." But they would not listen to me and kept dropping 1 to E6 and 2 to N5 and so on and when I came around I just had to eliminate them all. Sorry. :-s

Q. In a game between Escalating players and No Spoils players on Flat Rate, who wins?

I have to go with the No Spoils because you really need to have a set of balls on ya to go up against Escalating. And if the balls are that big, just imagine the smell of testosterone? ;)

Q. What's been your favorite CC game so far?

The one where I win.

Some may have noticed that I play on the classic map a lot but only because I want to learn that map first so well that I can play it in my sleep. I may finally be reaching that point with the old settings. Now with the new Trench setting which really have me involved, you can expect to see me play even more classic games in the trench setting.

I believe that truly understanding a map and the settings is the key to victory. And in the end practice always makes perfect. I also think that I may one day write a series of very short articles about the secrets of Classic. I will of course need to run my thoughts by some of the instructors for confirmation but I believe that they will agree with me since they are the ones who helped me to understand it all.

Q. Are you still mad that I (macbone) never return your phone calls?

OK; All joking aside. Yes, I was mad at you but only for the night. But as the evening wore old and my eyes grew tired, I went to sleep that night realizing the truth that,...

... “Tomorrow is another day!” =)
“And quite frankly my dear, I don't give a damn!”

Q. Have you ever thought about designing a map in the Foundry? If so, what theme/battle/location would you like to develop?

Now this is a good question for me. I am a Star Trek fan. If I could do a map it would definitely have to be the Cardasian Occupation of Bajor. With DS9 as the source or center of the map along with the planet Bajor to the side and the planet of Bajor and it's moons to one side and the Federation Fleet mixing it up with the Cardasians in space warfare on the other side of the map. Oh, and lets not forget that worm hole and those prophet cubes/cylinders. You just win the game if you get all of those. :D

Q. Marx Brothers or Three Stooges?

Office of Strategic Services (OSS) Classified Secrets will not be discussed in this interview. Sorry.

Q. What's your favorite Coen brothers film?

It is really interesting and scary at the same time, to see all of the little things that you folks have picked up and learned about me in just a matter of months. I guess that we really are a closed knit society here at CC. =)

I only recently discovered or was made to realize that there does exist, “The Coen Brothers.” The only movie that I have seen so far is the one in the Youtube. I really enjoyed it immensely. Especially the first few opening scenes where these guys are asking, “Where's the money Lebowsky; Where's the money?” All the time they are shoving his head in the toilet and not letting him talk. Lol.

Finally when they do let him say something, he says, “It's got to be down there some where, let me go down for another look.” Lol.

Q. Who would win in a chess tournament featuring you, Victor Sullivan, Dhallmeyer, Andy Dufresne, Dukasaur, and GLG?

I don't know for sure? Every time that I start a game it goes unfinished. It's your move by the way in our last game. =)

But I would admit the fact that I am pretty good at playing chess. I only play two openings, The Queens Gambit with white and the aggressive Sicilian with black, with or without the fianchetto bishop for Black. It is the fact that I only learned these two Strategies that allowed me to become so good at them. Although there are many who are better then me I'm sure.

It is sort of the same thing like learning only one map in Conquer Club. If you play the same map all the time then sooner or later you are bound to learn it's secrets and excel in that map. Of course learning the strategy also helps and that is what the SoC is for. I really learned a lot from the SoC and still am.

Anyone can learn to play this game but not everyone is willing to learn the details of the details of the details of the Strategies and the maps. And that is really what makes for the wins. And of course luck has a say in it also but you also make the good luck happen by being ready for it. And that takes strategy and knowing the maps as well.

I think it was Mr. Mya-gi from the movie, “The Karate Kid” who said,

“Trust in the quality of what you know and not the quantity of what you know.”

Any game that we play comes down to that. What we know and understand about it. So who's ever understanding of the games is greater, either at chess or World domination, then they are the one's who will most likely win the games.

Q. That should be Whom or What. Discuss.

crazymilkshake5 wrote:Who?
What?

(be creative)

I'm sorry, Whom or What was the question again?

Q. Now that MGSteve has taught you the finer points of trench warfare, do you think there will be trench tournaments in the future on CC, or will it go the way of the dinosaur? No offense, Dukasaur.

I do believe that I did mention in one of the treads, about an Entertainment Section sponsored Tournament but I could be mistaken. I think that once I learn how those tourney's are done, that I may try to host one. I'm not sure though. First we have to figure out just how many dedicated trench players there really are. Maybe someone should start a thread on that? I know however that there are a few tournaments because I was invited and I said yes. I am playing in one now and from what I can tell the people are all very enthusiastic about it so far.

I don't think that Trench Warfare will be gone anytime soon. I don't know exactly what the percentages of players are, Trench vs Non Trench, but most things that start out small, also end up big. Just like an Oak Tree. From a tiny little Oak Nut grows this huge tree that provides a home for so many different kinds of creatures. That's how Trench Warfare will be like one day on Conquer Club.

So I think that Yes; Trench Tournament games will become a more popular scene in CC. Just like the snow ball effect, Trench games are bound to get more and more popular as more people come to understand the new Strategies of the game. There may even be an SoC for Trench Games one day, once we have most of the strategies all figured out. But surely there are more strategies in Trench then in regular CC games so that it would be a major under taking.

The only thing about Trench games is that they are for more of a patient type of a person. Being able the see the end from a mile away is not an easy thing for a person with no patience. It also makes for a lot of deadbeat players. One thing is for sure and that is that trench games of the future will not be like the trench games now. Right now they take too long and a 70% troops and Territories system will have to be devised for regular standard trench games at least.

Q. What is your favorite RTS game series? CC doesn't count.

I actually do not have one. I only recently discovered the world of the internet. A few years ago I was on my space but then my laptop broke and I did not have the resource nor the inclination to fix my very first computer. Now I am Back and by sheer luck came across Conquer Club. I also know of another "Risk" site but it can't even hold a candle to CC.

Q. If you could ..........., would you? Or would you feel guilty afterwards and have to confess later on in life?

If the question is simply if I could....? Then the answer is, No I would not in the first place what ever it is that we are asking about. If something is morally wrong then it is totally wrong and I would not take any part of anything wrong. Even if to my own hurt. I am not an Angel but I am a mature adult and I have learned from this life and am grateful to my God for the quality of what I know and have been taught.

Q. Whats the longest you have spent planning a move only to have the dice stitch you up good and proper, leaving you wishing you had just clicked and hoped?

I think that I sometimes overly think my moves. I gain great pleasure in overly thinking my moves but I do not let the dice gods interfere with my games. I pray to a God that is bigger then the dice gods and so I have the advantage in that.

As to the longest amount of time that I have spent thinking about a move? The answer to that would have to be; 23 Hours and 55 minutes. Almost missed my turn that day. I used to look at a game and then go away and come back to it to see it with new eyes sort to say. As a rule I now play my games before the final 4 to 6 hours left in the turn.

And as to the dice “stitching” me up; I never use right click. Not anymore. That is how the dice gods get you. When you win with right click you win big but when you lose with right click you lose just as big. I go with the regular click because that way I conserve the 55% win ratio equally among all my plays more evenly distributed. Even though in the long run and after many years it may all be just the same.

Q. Are you related to General Roy?

I would be proud to be related to a General Roy of that stature. :D

But...

Office of Strategic Services (OSS) Classified Secrets will not be discussed in this interview. Sorry.

Are you an ass or breast man?

I am trying to be a vegetarian, I don't eat those kinds of animals. Besides Donkey meat is hard to chew. ;)

Q. Donde esta la Zapateria?

Buenos, sigue la carretera come tres luces mas pa lante. Vas a ver un puente, sigue por debajo de esse puente y la primera boca calle que vez, hace una derecha y parqueate rapido ahi. La Zapateria estas a cruzar la calle donde indica el letrero, "Zapateria!" --- De nada.

Q. Why?

Why ask why?

Q. What Vices do you have?

Thank God that I have over come most if not all of my vices in life, in my mature age years. The only ones left are vices of not having or being humble enough or giving enough of a person. But give it time. I am not dead yet and I am making great strides in those direction. Or better said, My God is making great strides in me in those direction.

Q. Which is your favorite?

I debated with myself about whether or not to answer this one and just post that OSS classified information would not be discussed but perhaps it is for the best within my soul to answer this quesion.

Which "WAS" my favorite is more like it. Or better still, Which ones really had me enslaved to their will! I think that all vices are pleasures that we surrender our souls to in exchange for a fleeting moment of Ecstasy which in the long run is just a lie.

I guess in my case it was the drinking and drugging. I could escape the pains of life for a while and just forget it all as I committed a form of slow suicide in the bottle. But I thank God that I am awake now and full of understanding. I finally understand who and what God is and just who and what I really am and more importantly why. And knowing this makes all the difference in the world. I have been sober now since about 2004-06 or so, I don't really remember as I was probably all drugged and drunk at the time. So no more vices for me. I am the Lord of my vice and not the other way around.

Q. What is your favorite car?

That would have to be the MUVs (Multi Ulitility Vehicle's). Because it's a family people car and I am into families. It is better to make sacrifices for others then not to have anyone to love.

Q. What is your favorite Color?

Red; Because it brings out the blue in your eyes.

Q. What is your favorite Food?

Rice; Because it goes great with beans.

Q. What is your favorite Drink?

Water on the rocks; Shaken not stirred.

Q. What is your favorite TV Show? And why?

Like I said earlier, I am a Star Trek fan and so Star Trek is my all time favorite show. In particular Star Trek (The Next Generation), but I love them all.

Now as to the why, well it's different with each type of Star Trek show. For example to be perfectly honest, I use to enjoy the kind of brotherhood, private club mentality portray in The Original Series but looking back now I see that I can't really enjoy them the same way. I've grown beyond that 60's mentality.

But all the shows have something in common and that is that they can and do portray certain aspects of social values and social behavior with out really making a kind of statement for any particular case. In many of the shows, Racism is addressed to a certain point and they may even take a true Racial incident that appeared on the news and reenact it to a degree but not get involved in that particular case.

Instead of beating up on a black or a white by either a militant or supremest human, earthly group, it's an alien being or a race of mutants or an entire planet like the Bajorans who were ruthlessly dominated by the cruel Cardasian Slave Masters and force to work the trillium mines on Ocus 4 or the mining refinery on DS9. The names and place may change but the issues are the same.

Q. Did I (trinicardinal) ask Why?

Yes you did. And Thank you for the question.

Q. What did you have for dinner last night?

I had rice and beans with a salad on the side. And I washed it down with water on the rocks, Shaken and not stirred.

Thanks for your time Viceroy!

You are all welcome and I thank you for allowing me to share some of myself and my thoughts and beliefs with you all. I also want to give a special thanks to Dim, Leehar and just everyone else who made this article possible and contributed to this work.

Thank You All.

Hello again my friends, and welcome to your favorite part of the Newsletter, "War Games", where you can find information about CC Tournaments! We have a couple of very important articles this time. One is targetted towards tournament organisers, and the other is targetted towards tournament players.

[player]DaveH[/player] continues his long-running series of Tournament Tips. This time, he covers the subject of how to extract a list of CC's maps from the site to your Excel spreadsheet. I advise all TO's to sit up and pay attention to this one because choosing maps is one of our most important tasks in building tournaments, and having your own customizable database of maps is the first step towards doing this efficiently.

[player]WorldCup4James[/player] covers the subject of Tournament Etiquette. Sometimes simple courtesies can go a long way to making the whole tournament experience better for everyone, and I urge everyone to read James' words of wisdom.

[player]Sensfan[/player] has been overwhelmed by his duties in real life, and will no longer be writing TPA Wrapup. If you are a TPA player or organiser, I would love to see you apply for a reporter's job here. (Warning: the pay is lousy. On the plus side, it can be a lot of fun!)

Next issue we begin our new Meet the Tournament Directors series, to complement our Meet the Tournament Winners and Meet the Tournament Organisers. I've begun an interview with Tournament Comissioner [player]Night Strike[/player] which I hope to unveil then!

Tournament Tips by DaveH
[spoiler=List of CC maps]Many tournament organisers want to use all of CC's maps, so in this issue I'll show you how to create a full list of CC maps in Excel. Actually there are two ways of copying the full list of 209 maps- the first is that you can type them all in :D and the second is the one that I'll explain below - as it is a little easier!

There is a list of CC maps in the Completed Map section of the Forum:

http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=358&t=79067

You can copy and paste this list into Excel. Unfortunately they have additional information appended to them, so I'll show you an easy way of extracting the map name. Copy the list - but do not copy the map number, which would make the extraction a little more complex. To avoid including the numbers, copy across in two blocks, 1-99 and 100-209 (or whatever the last one is when you do this) and highlight just the maps.

When copied, the data starts off as follows:
Classic (2006-01-03 04:20:04) - Classic Shapes | Classic Art - Classic (Wed Dec 30, 2009 8:48 pm)
Asia (Far East) (2006-01-03 12:54:45) - Far East (2012-02-07 11:34)
USA (2006-01-04 06:00:48)
Middle East (2006-03-14 19:32:33) - Middle East (Mon May 21, 2007 2:04 am)
Canada (2006-03-23 15:05:47) - Canada (Sun Oct 28, 2007 12:58 am)
Europe (2006-03-23 15:26:19)

Firstly you should remove the hyperlinks that may keep taking you back to your browser. In a blank cell enter 1 and copy the cell. Select the column with the map list in it and select Edit/Paste Special and select operation = Multiply. Click OK and you are done. Now to extract the names.

Excel has a useful function called "Find" which finds the position in text of a character or characters. We need to find the position of the bracket, "(". We are therefore going to copy the Left most characters up to 2 characters before the "(". This code is:

Code: Select all

=LEFT(B3,FIND("(",B3,1)-2)
(assuming that the map list is in column B starting at B3)

Copy this code down alongside the map list and all the map names will be extracted apart from a few marked "#VALUE!" for which the date has been written in the next line due to a marker character in the text. For these just copy a space and bracket next to the map name " (" and delete the next line with the date information in it. If you come across and other small marker characters ("?") just select and delete.

There are some "- Limited Edition" maps such as the Christmas maps that you may want to edit to exclude the limited edition title and a few maps that have later editions in which their names were changed. There is a way of using Excel Visual Basic coding to find out if there is a second or third edition of any maps, but it is complex and better is to check down the list and change the names manually - should you want to. The names are not that different anyway, as far as I have observed.

Now we have a full set of maps with a few that may have earlier names than the ones that are now in play. These map names in formula format, so you want to select and copy this list and Edit/Paste Special selecting Paste=Values to get them in text format. You can then sort as you wish.

Just a quick note on another way of getting to the current list of CC maps. Select "Game Finder". Right Click on your mouse to bring up a menu and select "View Game Source". Game source code is the coding behind what appears on your screen and so contains a full list of maps that you can copy, starting with Classic i.e. <option value="1" >Classic</option>. You can copy and paste and get rid of the extraneous text using similar techniques to those above.

(These "tips" are ones that I have tried to make it a bit easier in managing my own tournaments. I am sure there are different and better methods than these, so please let me know. Any queries on the above I'll be glad to respond to! Please note that I use Excel 2003, so there may be variation in the menu instructions if you have Excel 2007)[/spoiler]

Bang, fortnight, bang, fortnight, bang ... but how, how does time move so quickly? It can't be fought - time is here to stay. It may be our friend, our enemy, our plaything, and now ... it's taking over! Speaking of taking over, time for your involvement - check out [player]koontz1973[/player]'s article We Want You Now! Where Are You? Yes, that's an imperative. Quick march! And for those wondering what's happening and where to march to, [player]koontz1973[/player] delivers another What's Where? If you think that's not timely enough, I check out Conquership – a 2-player game of naval strategy. Interestingly, the origins of that game are lost in time. And, to add to the curiosity, [player]Lostatlimbo[/player] and [player]Victor Sullivan[/player] have added decay into the game to ensure that we don't forget the importance of timeI Which brings us swiftly to this by George Bernard Shaw:

Everything happens to everybody sooner or later if there is time enough.

Welcome to the Clangor.

This issue we wrap-up Quiksilvers series of Training Clan articles, as he delves into the great unknown by unveiling his own Training Clan as the Culmination of his endeavours.
And as more and more Leagues gather momentum, we look at the positives in merging some of them to create a more streamlined direction, with a feature on ICL vs the Premier League.
We also get the latest on The CL4 Divisional Cups!

Our Section is also interested in resurrecting the Clan Spotlight feature, so if you're already an active Participant in the Active Challenges Sub-Forum, how about taking the opportunity to get a medal for reporting on the different Clan Wars in Progress?
Even if you're The War Organizer or a fond patriot of your clan and are already spending the time keeping track of your personal War Progress, spend a few minutes to write a few words and share the exciting events with the rest of the Clan World with your own column in the Dispatch :D

Thanks Vice but I can't have all the credit. These things only happen when everyone pulls together. But, yeah, I am proud of everyone that we could get one out on time for a change! Great work everyone!!

You do realize that this statement:
Viceroy63 wrote:...or the American Civil war that killed more people then WWI, WWII, The Vietnam and Korean wars all put together...

and this statement:
Approximately 625,000 men died in the Civil War, more Americans than in World War I, World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War combined.

are not at all the the same, right?
