Dying off, my ass. I got a 3-monther for telling Phatscotty that "I was defending him because someone told me that he was a perfect idiot, and I knew he wasn't perfect" (or something very similar to that).

I'm simply citing the reason for my 3-monther. There were actually more than that one item listed, but it's easily the worst of them (one of the other almost-as-bad ones was my telling Phatscotty that he's so dense that light bends around him, for example).

Insulting? Sure...in a humorous manner. Baiting? I suppose so, sure.

But flaming? I can't possibly see that, particularly given my occasional REAL flames on this site. If, as you say, it would have been so easy to come up with those (that I haven't already been sanctioned for), they would have done so, rather than embarrassing themselves with the examples they gave.

That's faulty reasoning. I know already that the mods put very little effort into the reason they give you for banning you. Apparently they keep a very thick file on all users, never once bothering to tell someone that what they're doing could get them in trouble. Instead, it seems, they'd rather spend MORE time and effort collecting evidence that they use, and when it comes time to rebuke a customer, they cut corners and give you the most horse shit reason possible.

I can't fathom why.

But with you, having done some simple searching of my own, you really like to make enemies. You're incredibly adept at going after individuals rather than their ideas. You could write a book on how to make people hate your fucking guts. Not sure what your problem is. All you need to do is attack ideas, not people. No one here has ever been out to get you until you started in on them! Think about that for minute. Really think about it. You're a victim of your own making. I'm being real here for a minute, Woodruff, and I seriously dislike you. My policy with you had always been to laugh at you and avoid you, until you decided that come hell or high water, you'd make an enemy out of me. Think about that. You've started everything. I'm still convinced that Woodruff has a mild type of personality disorder which involves a combination of him getting off by irritating others, while having them hate him.

I don't know for sure about Victor, but since I have gathered that he and I are about the same age, I was presuming that his was a simple question, born of ignorance. From my viewpoint, it certainly was. I intended no mockery. I honestly have no idea what VOL means here, and Victor's interpretation happened to be exactly what popped into my head. I try to keep current on acronyms like this (I recently discovered TL;DR), but there will always be a first contact experience. Sometimes these things go badly. That is part and parcel of a medium like forum posts, stripped as they are of the non-verbal cues which aid face-to-face communication. I suppose that Sully could have simply asked, "What does VOL mean?", but it is more fun to guess, and frankly, it seemed to fit the context.

As I type this, I am just now seeing Symmetry's post about ViperOverLord. Not sure how I didn't see that, or how I wasn't told more posts had been made. I may have preloaded the page, then wandered away and come back, I don't know. It was not my intent to mock that user.

So was Army of GOD trying to say that ViperOverLord was the user who was in the dispute with Woodruff?

As an aside, the fact that I am a Tech Team volunteer hardly qualifies my every post as a mod comment, especially in the off-topics forum currently known as Davy Jones' Locker.

Your best bet is to write off any dispute with ViperOverLord that you come across, Obviously you can ignore my advice, and that of every other poster who has engaged with him, but seriously, you aren't going to be the poster that redeems him. He's a notorious troll.

I don't really get any enjoyment at all out of it...I quite simply just don't care. If someone here is saying dumbass things, I'm going to tell them. There is a total of one person on this site (who never posts in the fora) that I actually know in real life, from my military days. His opinion of me is really the only one on this site that matters to me.

Unlikely, as my dispute with ViperOverLord was ages ago and I had the same thought on the acronym that you did. This is just an excuse for pimpdave to rail against me. He seems to find solace in it. He's done a hell of a job dragging it off-topic though, I'll say that for him.

Now that I know that Woodruff usually insults people, and given his avatar, I'm starting to like him a lot.

Not that I care about the character in the avatar, until he used it I had no idea of that cult, but it makes sense, that look and insulting people. I look forward to more insults and now I'll pay more attention to his posts.
