[Invites] Cancel/Rescind Game Invitations

Post by Bolbs »

Concise description:
  • Withdraw game invites that you have sent

Specifics/Details:
  • Withdraw game ivites that you have sent

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • If someone does not accept the game invite the slot becomes empty and so could be filled before you have a chance to send out another invte. If someone wants to reject the invite they will normally tell you, so you could withdraw it then and there and so be able to send out another invite.

Re: Withdraw Game Invites

I have an addition for the benefit.
Espescially for tournament organizors like me.

Withdrawing invitations cause you have send it to the wrong person. Could easily go wrong when you need to send 148 each round.

[Invites] Cancel Game Invitations

Post by TheMissionary »

Concise description:
  • Being able to cancel game invitations/reserves.

Specifics/Details:
  • Tournament organizers and clan challenge organizers could cancel game invitaions.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • It will take away that long dreaded wait if someone in the tournament misspelled a players name, or the wrong person was invited to the wrong team.
  • It will help things run more smoothly and efficiently.

I'm not exactly sure why the cancellation of invites isn't apart of the system already. I don't invite people much, but I do see this being a good thing.

Not only the ability to cancel invites, but the entire invite system needs an overhaul. There was a thread about it somewhere...

I agree, and I'd like to see that thread.

Phenomenal idea here. I always end up inviting [player]V[/player] because I don't hit shift hard enough. Luckily he never played any games and is not active so it's just a 24 hour waste of time.
taking a break from cc, will be back sometime in the future.

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=138943&hilit=invite+system here it is. It should be updated with all the other stuff people ended up suggesting.

Did you picture me just wailing on the shift key thinking I wasn't hitting it hard enough?

Yes very frustrating when I accidentally invite someone to the wrong game in my tournament. Have to drop the whole game, recreate the game and reinvite. And I am running a small tournament, I could not imagine not catching the mistake in the moment on a large scale. That would be very very frustrating

I love this idea. I think it may have been brought up in the TO group, but it would be great for everyone, not just TO's. If you invite a friend to a game and they say they don't want to play that map, you have the ability to cancel and reinvite someone else instead of trying to be online when they cancel or the invite expires so that you don't have someone join that you don't want.

Take a look at the other thread if you haven't, it details more issues that, if fixed, would be great improvements to the site.

Invitations should be removed if a mistake happens or..

PLACE THE NAME OF THE SUGGESTION IN THE SUBJECT LINE!

There should be away to remove invitations if a person sends one to the wrong person. Or make them 12 hours long.

12 hours is a bad idea. Being able to cancel is a good idea and probably shouldn't be rejected...

Not sure why this was rejected. Is there never any official rationale posted?

I obviously am still in support, as are most tournament organizers.
