It's a great pleasure for me to announce the official return of one of the greatest Foundry contributors. For some real life reasons he had to hang up his blue shoes for some time but his love for the Foundry had never turned off.
Today, he is finally ready to put on again his pair of blue shoes and give a hand to keep the things running smoothly. He will take care of the maps during the Graphics development with RedBaron0 and isaiah40 (that like some of you have certainly noticed, is currently taking care the Drafting Room untill the return of Industrial Helix).
Anyway, without any further ado, I'm going to unveil that the latest addition to the group of Cartographers is.....
*drum roll*
the only... the great.... the mythical.....
gimil!
Please, come here to say him welcome back! Welcome back gimil, we missed you.

Wow, we have CairnsWK, Gimil and DiM back, too damn good to be true! Can I expect 2 other big comebacks ([player]WidowMakers[/player] & [player]qwert[/player])?
Thanks to the CC staff for the perma-ban on [player]۩░▒▓₪№™℮₪▓▒░۩[/player]!

Umm, not likely. Qwert is all pissed at the foundry, because apparently people are just mean bastards who don't understand his godlike genius. WM is making maps for another, "elite" site which only accepts the "best" of mapmakers...
qwert might come back if the map making process improves. i don't know about WM but i highly doubt he'd give up on MC to return to CC. i honestly see no reason why he would.

never take qwert's words literally. his english skills aren't that great and if he said he was banned then he probably meant he was driven out. qwert is a difficult map but once you learn to work with him you discover he's a very dedicated map maker that takes his maps very seriously.

Well DiM, you weren't here during the Pelo wars debacle...
"Taking maps seriously" doesn't, in my book, include abandoning a map in beta for 6 months, refusing to do a simple update to it that was asked to get the map out of beta, so that eventually a cartographer had to do the update for him just to get it out of beta...

qwert does take his maps very seriously and the amount of work he puts into research and accuracy is immense. i don't know what happened during the pelo wars but i'm sure qwert had his reasons. he may have exaggerated reactions some times but in many cases he is right. i just look at pelo wars map and compare it to atrocities like hive, gilgamesh or monsters and i understand qwert's frustration when he's asked to change minute details.

As I recall, the only thing that needed to be changed was a legend element, uninvolved with the accuracy of the map itself, and only regarding its clarity. It wasn't a case of anyone asking for him to compromise his map's look, it was just the straw that broke the camel's back as best I can tell.

precisely.
i'm pretty sure the people asking for the legend thing to be changed were right but qwert was probably fed up when he saw his map being constantly nitpicked while other maps which were obviously of a lower quality strolled through the foundry unstopped. the saddest part is that this double standard still is very visible.
