Outside the Internet

I have several friends IRL that play Conquer Club. We rarely play against each other (actually, we rarely play in the same games) and I was wondering: when playing a team game with one of my IRL friends on my team, is it against the rules to talk to them about the game IRL? I looked and couldn't find anything on this (although, to be honest, I didn't look very hard) but I don't see how it would be an issue if we are on the same team talking IRL.

Nope. There's no way to monitor or prevent this, and it doesn't make the game less enjoyable for the others, as no diplomacy between enemies is going on (thus, no secret diplomacy). The team chat feature provides a medium for you to talk to your teammates, but it doesn't have to be the only one.

Here's an interesting twist on this question. What about secret diplomacy IRL? Just say I'm in a game with 5 people (6 people total) and it's a standard game. I happen to know one of my opponents IRL, and arrange over a cup of coffee to have an alliance with him. How easy is it to prove this?

I'd say near impossible unless the multi hunters are part of the Intelligence service. Honor code I suppose?

In a single game it would be near impossible, but when a pattern emerges it is quite something else. Also, this is no court of law, if there is a suspicion, i guess wou could get blocked for that. Since i am no hunter i do not know for sure, but its what i would find logical.

sometimes i wonder if you bother to read the initial posts in threads. He talks only of team games, and beyond that rds answered his question quite nicely. Either way i will further solidify points he made.

There is literally no way cc could monitor this and unless he is talking about dubs with 3 or 4 teams there is no way it could be against the rules. Considering you did not specify this in your post i believe you were not even thinking of that and beyond that those games are not what most mean when they say team games.

Now lets assume 2 situations

1) they are on the same team which means that they can talk it over in chat also im sure you know that many talk it over in other forms like msn or private chats. Either way ultimately the players converse and decide a move so in the end its the same.
2) they are on different team and assuming they are playing to win they are not going to say anything that will help the other team

oh and lastly if it were not team games you should clarify that it is against the rules more and not post crap like there is no way they can tell as that only serves to make people think they can get away with it or it is something they can do

My pickly game log does in fact record every time other players have coffee. It also tells me how many sugars they have in their coffee and what they had for breakfast. I think it is a malfunction of my computer, but it is quite handy becasuse i often forget what I had for breakfast, so it is a nice reminder.
