Website "lag"

Post by lackattack »

Edit by TeeGee: This thread is no longer used by the current administration. If lag is an issue please post in the bug reports thread.
This thread will be left open to DISCUSS lag issues. Thank you

When you find Conquer Club to be non-responsive, please report it here. I'm talking about slowdowns, timeouts, whitescreens, or other symptoms of "lag". Just let us know what happened, when, and for how long.

We log slow page loads, and it seems that there are more and more incidents where the website isn't running well even though nothing appears in the logs. So we had our hosting company set up a special system monitor on the webserver to collect additional data. By cross-referencing lag reports with that data we might be able to figure out what's causing it and take corrective action.

So please take a moment to report "lag" here and help us improve Conquer Club! To be real helpful, if you have information on what you were doing (taking a turn, posting in the forum, navigating to a page, etc) and when you were doing it (either in CC Time or in your local time), please post said information!

Thanks in advance :D

The only time I experience lagginess is when I try to log into Livechat and this happens EVERY time.

I think that's an issue with photobucket (you're talking about the little medal icons, right?), not CC.

I do often have that pop-up saying 'the site's not responding now, please wait 10 seconds', is that the kind of stuff you're looking for?

Edit: If that is, I've just experienced it now in Game 8875763
You can see in the game log (for round 5) it's when there's 20/30 secs between attacks. I'm using clickies so there really isn't a reason for that. You can see how in Round 6 it was much quicker...

Press active games-you will get result 23000 games in 230 pages- try to investigate page 100, and you will get these message-ERROR PAGE NOT EXIST.
And these hepend in all other options to.

Just now had a timeout while trying to post. This has been happening a lot to me lately, both in games and forums. It's always just one time out, and starts working again when I click try again.

Similar to natty, the last 10-15 minutes I've had slowness issues. I'd type up my post, then click "Submit" and it would be loading...loading...loading... the finally I just clicked Stop and clicked Submit again and instantly it was posted. Weird.

Mine lags all the time--but that is because I need a new PC--anyone want to send me one?

Here is where CC lags..

If a person goes to game finder and puts in these settings:

Waiting for players / Active

Speed games.

This could be fixed by allowing the active games to be checked say only the last 100,000 or 200,000 games. The growing number of games makes the page lag for a good 20 seconds or so.

Thanks!

Had some lag about two minutes ago... (that would be 1313 Eastern Daylight.) Was sending a PM. There was a long delay and I thought something was wrong but eventually the normal screen came around and the PM had been sent successfully.

Getting a lot of this, this morning:

From about 9:30 AM (Pacific Time) until now. Some times it will take up to 30 seconds to load a page.

It barely bothers me, but some pages, especially pages displaying a list of games, are sometimes slow.
I'm talking 5-10 seconds of loading.
I just noticed it again 15:38 till 15:44 my time (don't know about other time zones, but that's 7 minutes ago :P)

"Join Speed Games" Load Time

Post by rdsrds2120 »

Operating System: Windows XP
Browser: Google Chrome
Scripts/third party programs used: BOB, Assault Odds, Clickies

Concise description:
  • The "Join Speed Games" tab takes an arbitrary amount of time to load.

Specifics:
  • Everything else on the site works fine for me, but when I go to join a speed game, it takes many seconds for everything to show up.
