Generals/high ranking Colonels
OK so I was on here a while back asking how was the best way to get points on CC....I was then turned onto doubles and found my way to a Colonel fairly shortly....I was at 805 points when I started my quest and within a month was a colonel just like many people had said.
I AM STUCK NOW !!!
How do you guys go from here....I am up and down ( currently down ) and have alot of swings in the 4-600 point range which drive me crazy. I know that I obviously have to improve on my game at this level becasue for the most part you have to win 3-1 just to stay even. I have been spinning my wheels for about 250 games now.
So what do the best of CC have to offer in way of advice for a struggling Colonel which wants to continue to climb the rankings?
Thank you in advance for any help!!!

i broke 2400 which i did virtually all in singles. then i have recently gone on an extreme losing streak (for me anyway coz i don't play many games) and gone down to just a bit short of 2000. i got screwed several times.
thing is its a lot easier to lose the points that gain them. i have never played for rank but i find that its best for me to beat a board full of colonels to get points coz its more fun doing that rather than trying to find easy points

i think youll find the vast majority of colonels go up and down a lot
the top of the board - blitz, eye84, play doubles still, just an obscene amount.
johnnyrocket, former general has over 2000 games..
increase in volume or be patient i suppose
escalating games against lower ranked players are usually a good source of points too

I'm a fairly new player who still developing my strategies. I'm not overly concerned with the rankings; I just enjoy playing the game whether I win or lose. I wouldn't mind playing against a colonel to see how I do. You'd probably beat me more often than not, but if the game is good, I'll still have fun.
My games are full up until I get around to getting the Premium account, which will probably be next weekend, but feel free to come find any game I'm playing in to come trounce me.

If you used team games to get to colonel, might as well keep using them to get up to general, you just have to switch to triples.
Chances of winning at triples are much better than doubles since you have 3 experienced players against 3 random opponents. Interesting how someone at 805 can make colonel just by team games, lol.

When I was a Lieutenant I went up and down a lot and could never make it to Captain. However, I soon started scouting the Join a Games list and only joined games that had Lieutenants and above. That way, when I lost a game I would lose a small amount of points, but if I won a game I would gain a whole lot of points. Now I'm a Captain and I hope to break Major soon.
i shouldnt post here...but
many of the generals got there differently
blitz lots of trips
jork lots of trips
eye dub 4 player no cards
robinette 6 player esc
nuke 6 player esc
rl combo, but 6 player esc pro some dubs
steel...no cards 6 player dubs..but others too
Jr...every game imaginable...lots of trips...lots of dubs...lots of everything
Dug...4 player classic, adjacent, flat rate...as you know...200 of which with yours truly...some others too
Andy B...combo of dubs and trips...i think
Juventino...3 player games then dubs...
Rev Kyle...adds name to list but isnt one...
I know i havent included all, but i havent played them all enough
cyberd...6 player i believe
maniacm 6 player also i believe...but im not sure
this is by no means the only games they play...just the ones they tend to play as i have seen and remember...but they all do it differently all with slightly different styles...to be honest, i wouldnt quite expect as much difference in style as there is, but there is quite a bit...but for the most part...id say they all have a tendency to play conservatively...very carefully and methodically...

Stay out of Assassin games and try to avoid RT unless you really need the adrenaline.
I usually play non-RT triples or doubles to get some points and then loose them in a RT just to wake up in the mornings.

its not as easy as telling you what to do. alot of it is just luck. than when you clear 3,000 points, it gets even harder. you must maintain a 6-1 win/loss ratio to remain a general.
