Special thanks to [player]shaneback[/player] and [player]jpcloet[/player] for helping me out.

This are the participating clans:

Here just to say couple of things:

1.This game is about fun and enjoyment for me and it should stay so. Any problem should be easily overcome and I don't want any of the wars to become flame war. Play fair and don't get unreasonable.

2.This is Newcomers Cup, so if any clan is a bit late or slow on joining, don't hold it against them. We or most are here to learn before thrown to wolves.

3.Except me there is always shaneback to turn on, as he has help me so far and thank you for that.

4.I will updated the thread as soon as I can with all the results.

5.I am easy going guy and believe that going for any punishment is the last resort, as I said at start, this is game and lets try to have some fun, all issues can be dealt in friendly manner.

Good luck to all!
benga
1.43 total games: 14 doubles, 14 triples, 14 quads
2. Each clan member can only participate in 20 games per clan war
3. Wars are to be played in 2 sets:
1st set only home games from higher seeded clan
2nd set only home games from lower seeded clan
4.The 43rd game will be chosen by lower seeded clan and is to be sent with 2nd set to speed things up!
5.Each map can only be used twice per clan per clan war but can only be used once per game type (i.e. once for triples and once for quads)
6.There will be no freestyle, speed, manual deployments, beta maps, or nuclear spoils games allowed

Seeding would be done by each clan and then combined together.
Seed will remain the same for the whole tournament.
(If lower seed clan wins over higher he will not take higher clans seed)
All seeds are to be sent to [player]shaneback[/player].

All games are to be joined within 7 days of set start!

Round 1:
Set 1: Saturday, March 5
Set 2: Saturday March 19

Round 2:
Set 1: Saturday April 9
Set 2: Saturday April 23

Finals:
Start: Saturday May 14
End: Saturday July 2

3 clan round robin.

The winners of the Cup will be the clan that wins 2 wars.
If each clan wins only 1 war, then, and only then, will it be decided by win/loss ratio.

The schedule of wars is to be agreed by clans involved
with intention to end the Cup at July 2.

In case of a tie there will be a special round on Classic map,
with one dubs, trips and quad team from each clan.

It will be played round robin style with no spoils, chained, sunny settings.

Player can only be in one team (either dub, trip or quad)
and that team will play both games of the tie.

For each clan war, the higher seeded clan will setup a thread to run that particular match. When asking for privileges, just stay that this clan war is part of Newcomers Cup.

In each clan challenge thread. A list of players participating for each clan should be kept up along with a running tally of how many games each player has played in. If someone feels a player has violated the number of games they are allowed to participate in, please bring it to my attention. If they are found in violation, the opposing team will get to pick any games from the last batch played equal to the number of games the went over the limit to restart without that player participating.

The 1st step is to work it out between yourselves, next step is me and last would be CDs.

When sending and joining be careful about restrictions from Rules of Engagement.

Please do not join later then 7 days, otherwise you are facing a forfeit.

For using maps more the stated, the other team will choose map and settings to replace the last joined game/s.

For excessive use of players, the other team gets to which games they wish to replace,
again by choosing map and settings themselves.

If at any time anyone of you needs some time ask!!

All complaints are to be looked up in case by case fashion.

Each clan war is to be issued a medal as it normally would.

The winner of the Cup will also receive a medal.
Do you have the seedings posted anywhere? Seems odd to me that OSA and WG are the two lowest seeded clans, I would probably rate both in the top half of the clans participating

A lot of new clans in this one, but as I remember Grim Reapers are quite old. They played in our division in Clan League season 2 so they must have been around for at least 1 1/2 years.

Since June 2009 (I'm not crazy enough to look it up, I was a member for a while :P ).
In the other thread in the general clan forum, benga said you didn't have to be a new clan, he was having trouble getting to 8 clans, which is what he wanted. My guess is the Reapers joined up then WG (who was on the fence) decided to participate, so there ended up being 9.

Benga sent me an invite, along with some other clans, both established and new. It first the though of being lumped in with "new" clans was a bit insulting, however, a lot of these new clans are quite talenlted, and I think we will have some tough competition.
The entry to WG into this challenge has just sweetened the pot, as they are a basically a top 20 clan with a couple new members and a new name, where as Im sure the other clans in this challenge fall below the top 20 mark. Its unfortunate that WG and OSA are to meet in the play-in round, as they are probably top of the top 3 clans in this challenge.

Send an invite to inital 8 clans, but only response from 4.
3 autommatically joined, 4th wasn't sure, so I sent some more invites. I was in a bit of a hurry to start cause wanted it finished before summer and some clans waited to see if they get in CCup2.

As we somehow got 8, thought it's all good to go, but then
Geese joined in, so felt it's our responsibility to go in play in round as I was hosting to whole thing.

I will wait for couple of more days, cause as it seems there is more interest. It is mostly for new clans, but also for lower ranked who can then help get newer clans get organized and give them some input and experience.

Completely agree. I'd put OSA and WG at 1 and 2 actually, closely followed by the Reapers, then the Pack. (I follow all clan wars and have a pretty good feeling about these things). If it's on halt anyway, you might want to wait until tomorrow when Chuck's power rankings are posted, then add in the new people at the bottom (special exception being made for the Geese who should take L4Ds spot on the rankings).

I think that this is a spectacular idea and wish there was something like this when I first joined a clan. I hope it works well for all involved!

Cheers.
