Deadbeats in team games

Game 8212862

I've played over 850 team games and never seen this...although I have had little to no experience with deadbeats in the team environment. Team 3 has a team member deadbeat. The remaining player gets the deadbeats regions and cards.

While I personally don't think this is appropriate in any circumstance, it is a killer on certain maps, feudal and epic in particular. Team 3 went from losing to winning....because of a deadbeat. The remaining team member got a protected castle, the region bonuses therein, and the cards earned by his deadbeat partner.

Semp cleared them of being a multi, but I still don't like this at all.

The reasoning behind this is that the player who isn't deadbeating doesn't get punished too much for having a partner deadbeat. If the deadbeat's troops would go neutral, his partner doesn't stand a chance of winning at all. With the current ruling, the team misses three turns worth of income (the missed turns of the deadbeat), and has less teammembers to talk strategy or collect cards. If the player hadn't deadbeated, they would have had the protected castle, the bonus regions and the cards anyway.

Sure, there will be situations where a teammate deadbeating can be advantegeous, but most of the time, the team won't be in a better position then they would have been if the player had just shown up for all his turns.

Of course, you're free to foe and rate accordingly.
