In light of my inebriated condition I'd like to dedicate this thread to alcohol, in all its lovely forms and sizes. Talk about your favourite beer, the last ugly bloke or lass your dragged home from the pub, why your moonshine is the best, why beer is almsot better than CC, but Beer + CC is even better, why you like blended whiskey, why you hate blended whiskey, admit your one of those people (like my dear friend *******) who brings ciders and shit to parties to give away to ladies, what's your favourite cognac, why wine under €30 isn't worth drinking, etc etc etc

I'm sipping the last of a champaigne bottle that I managed to preserve tanks to a really nifty rubber cork device. So I will dedicate this to my roots and my branches. My roots, my family tree, as it were, comes from Scotland and Ireland (and this and that, but that's not important now). So my first dedication is to single malt Scotch, served straight with a sacred drop of water. (It makes the flavor pop.) Followed by a good Irish Wiskey, like Black Bush (Bushmills Black Label).

But really, I need to argue DRINK LOCAL, because I live on Long Island where we have all the good stuff. We got the potato vodka, the wine, the brew pubs, the meadery (YES WE HAVE A MEADERY). In fact I'm drinking local bubbly right now.

Consuming local is the way of the future.

NICE!!!!! I love mead. I used to visit a meadery in Columbus all the time. I knew the owners it was badass. It's good to hear that someone else knows what it is.
The best Mead I've ever had was called Southern Bell. It was made from Tupelo honey. So Damn Good!

drinking a Rose wine at the moment, vodka in a bit.

Three Base Hit
1 oz. brandy
Juice from half a lemon
1 oz. dark rum
.5 oz. simple syrup (equal parts water and sugar combined over heat and cooled)
1 oz. bourbon

Combine all the ingredients in a shaker full of ice and give it a few hard shakes. Pour into a lowball glass full of ice

My own mixed drink.

Some Woodford Reserve Whiskey
Some Crown Royal Whiskey
Some Jack Daniels Whiskey
Some Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum
Some Brandy (not sure of the brand here)
Some Coke (or whatever, doesnt matter)


Its good, try it. It gets you fucked up.
