Israel??
So, while perusing facebook, I came across a group that called itself "f*ck Israel." Very imaginative. The group is populated by various muslims, Arabs, Palestinians, you know, the usual people you would expect to be part of such a group.
Anyway, while browsing their ideas and whatnot, I came across a line that said something along the lines of: Israel has illegally stolen our lands and should return them immediately.
Now, if I am not mistaken, didn't Israel take these lands in three different wars that were all started by the Arab powers, namely Egypt and Syria? And if so, what right do people have to say that the lands were "stolen," and much less "illegally?"
I'm just curious to get some other people's thoughts and ideas about this. And perhaps just any thoughts or ideas on Israel as a whole.

Israel
I don't know. This might be a bit more than this forum can handle.
I wasn't around but the state of Irael in modern terms right or wrong was sort of just sprung on the region. I could sympathise with people who's family was displaced. Funny thing is there's no records and suddenly everyone is making a claim so who has a legitimate grievence?

I think the Cananites have the most legitimate claim. Let me know if you see one.

Of course google won't have anything on them, they were pre-historic. Which by definition means that they pre-dated history, meaning there is no officially recorded history concerning the Aphidzoids. But trust me, they were indeed there prior to the Canaanites.

This is a good idea.
Re: Israel??
I should clarify. I am not speaking of Israel itself when talking about the lands "stolen" from the Arabs. I am speaking mainly of the West Bank, Golan Heights, Sinai and Gaza, which were taken from Jordan, Syria and Egypt during the Six-Day War of June 1967. Apparently Jordan, Syria and Egypt decided to attack Israel, which defeated the Arab forces in, go figure, 6 days.

Just in point of clarification, the very first shot in the 1967 war was not by Arab League forces but by the Zionist Air Force when 250 Zionist bombers unilaterally entered Egyptian airspace and destroyed the entire Egyptian air force on the ground. This came two years after the Zionist air force bombed a dam construction project inside Syria.
On the topic of Israel, it bears noting that the reckless, bumbling so-called "German" government has been more instrumental than any other nation in the development of the Zionist WMD program. They have been peddling submarines to the Zionist navy knowing that they are being retrofitted to cruise-missile platforms to form a second-strike force. The merry-go-round of international gangsters in the Bundeskanzleramt is now actively conspiring to unleash the nuclear apocalypse on the middle east.
FURTHER, are Katy Perry's Honkers Too Hot for 'Sesame Street'? That's what TMZ is saying. I was like WTF? http://www.tmz.com/2010/09/22/katy-perr ... o-breasts/

The whole creation of Israel violated most legal standards for countries. I mean, a group of religious folks decide they want this territory.. never mind anyone who is there before, never mind any ties except religion... and takes it.
Lie? I think that's a strong word Gaudian. I do agree that Katy's boobs are not that big of a deal.
Oddly enough the forum that is directly responsible for my internet addiction had a Katy Perry section while she was getting her career going and singing CCM. There were a bunch of guys on there that wanted her to be like she is now back then.

Well, it seems you are correct that Israel started the actual war. After rechecking my sources, I noticed that. I suppose I should have been more thorough. However, they were not unprovoked. They even declared to Egypt that any closing of the Suez Canal would be seen as an act of war or justification for war. And then Egypt proceeded to close the canal to Israeli shipping. So, it's not exactly clear who is at ultimate "fault" for the war, but the fact remains that, once the war started, the Israeli military quickly mopped up the Arab armies.
On your whole Germany thing, I know nothing about that, so I cannot really comment.
On the Katy Perry thing, no, I do not think her boobs are too big for Sesame Street. I think her boobs are just the right size for Sesame Street.

Well, while it was rather unusual, it's not like the Jews simply took it. I think the whole thing was largely a response to WW2 and the holocaust. Britian was instrumental in the creation of Israel. And besides, it's not like religion was the sole claim they had to the land, they were the ancient inhabitants of the land, so that could be construed as a legitimate claim. Of course, that claim is sort of based on the Old Testament, but still, not really having to do with religion.
I should also note, that I am rather sympathetic to Israel. Not on any religious grounds or anything like that. My father believes we should support Israel because they are God's chosen people and our brother faith. I say hogwash on that. I am sympathetic to them because they are surrounded by people who want their total destruction, have been in quite a number of wars, and yet have done an admirable job in defending their country and in developing their country. Not to mention, they have like the third best military technology in the world. Granted, much of it comes from the American government, but not all of it. Take the main battle tanks for example. The Americans come in first, with the M1A2 Abrams(if they havent come out with a newer one yet...not sure on that), then the Russians with the T-90, then the Israelis with the Merkava Mk 3. The first two countries make sense, being rather large and powerful nations. But then Israel, a rather small and unimportant country on the world scale, comes in third...it's interesting to say the least.
Anyway, you do bring up a good point about the previous inhabitants, and I'm not sure that there is a good solution. However, I would say that it only seems fair that the Jewish people should have a homeland of their own. This may not be the fairest solution, but why can't the palestinians go live in the other Arab/Muslim countries? It wouldn't be the perfect solution, but at least then Israel wouldn't have a lot of the problems that it now has, and the Palestinians would be somewhat more content, being surrounded by fellow Muslims and Arabs. Like I said, not a perfect solution, maybe not even a viable one, but just my suggestion. Thoughts?
I was the one using the term "big". The TMZ guy complained they were too "hot" and made his nephew or something, could have been son, and these are not my words because I think they are inapropriate for use in discribing a minor. "pop a boner."
Edit: player jumps the que and ruins the internet again.

Well, while this would probably solve the problem, I highly doubt any of the involved would subscribe to this. I'm sure they would stongly object to their holy city being destroyed. And remember, Jerusalem is not just a holy city for Islam and Judaism, but in a way, for Christianity as well. What an odd occurance...that one city would be held so important by the three major world religions.

If i declared that you must let me have sex with your girlfriend, and you refused, and - in response - I stabbed you, is it your fault for provoking me?

wrong again, Katy's jugs aren't big enough for Sesame Street -- Sesame Street deserves giant-sized fun-funs, like freakishly, weird-sized ones

Well, I would say no on that one, as that is a personal matter between the two of us. However, the Suez Canal thing is a major world affair. The shipping going on through the canal is quite important to a number of nations, including Israel. Therefore, they could easily have construed that as a threat to their national interests. It's not like they were the first country to go to war over something of that nature. The US government does stuff like that all the time. If you intentionally step on another countries toes, denying them things that they need, then be prepared for a harsh response.
And since we're getting into hypotheticals here, let's say that Panama decided that the US was not allowed to use their canal anymore. What do you think the response would be?tkr4lf wrote:On the Katy Perry thing, no, I do not think her boobs are too big for Sesame Street. I think her boobs are just the right size for Sesame Street.

Perhaps they aren't the perfect size for Sesame Street, perhaps bigger, even massive breasts, I'm talking the kind that could be used as weapons, are in order. I guess the question is, how big of breasts should our young ones be seeing? And does it even matter? I think not.

That's a good one too I think because...
The Yanks built that thing and ran it up until recently. I could see something of that nature happening in a decade or two if the US&A can afford to launch an offensive strike.
Re: Israel??
Well, I don't really think it would happen. The Panamanians are generally with the US. They seem to be grateful for the whole "get-Noriega-out-of-there" operation we had, and for building the canal and operating it, as that has brought their country much prosperity. It's just a hypothetical to make a point. But it would be interesting to see it play out. America has basically occupied that country before, don't think it wouldn't do it again. If anything, America loves to spend its money on making war. (Not that I agree with this, just stating a fact.)
