how many territories do you prefer on a map?

I was thinking of making a map and I have a couple options for territories and wanted to know what the majority prefers.

my favs are, 42, 48, 60.

(60 is the ultimate)

I prefer 3-4 player games, so I enjoy the smaller maps. Preferably ones that have some smaller continents so everyone has a chance to grab a bonus early.
