missing a turn/intentionally not finishing a turn

This may be a stupid question, and I apologize for asking it again if it has been brought up in the past.
I understand the reasoning behind not letting someone who ends a round immediately start the next round. Ithink that the half-round rule is good for that purpose.
But can someone explain to me why this applies in a different scenario:
I am in a multi-player game. I have been the second to last person to act. The last player misses his turn. Why am I not allowed to take my turn when the current round expires? Wouldn't it be more fair to just let any player start the next round?
I thought that this could be used inappropriately, and it has. It has been used against me once before in a heads-up game where I was completing my turn before my opponent. So, to use a cheap tactic, he began his turn, and then simply did not end it. He took his turn, made all attacks and re-inforcements, and then simply didn't click "end re-inforcement." That way, I was blocked from moving, and he got a double turn at his leisure. Well, it's come up again in another game of mine:
7210664
I'll obviously be posting this to the cheating abuse forum, but I wanted someone to explain to me why this rule punishes someone who took his turn in good faith, and blatantly allows other people to "cheat within the rules."

it's perfectly legal, they got rid of the double turn rule already. Blue knew u were watching the game when he was taking his turn since u chatted with him, blue didn't want u to immediately cash in on troops once he finished. Hence, he decided to prolong his turn so he hoped I was able to spot him taking the turn in the 1 hour window and for me to take my turn once his time ran out to attempt to break ur bonus. The that tactic relies a lot on luck that another player happens to see u during the 1 hour window. (of course with me, I log quite often so blue knew there was a good chance I would see him taking his turn and wait, though the waiting was 20 minutes :X)

Dude, you're in that game, and you both have done shifty things in it. Let me just go on record for saying that I couldn't possibly care less about your skewed opinion. Regardless, if you weren't so obviously invested in one side of that game, you'd realize that we had a truce, and that my cashing would not affect him cause we had an agreement over those borders.
Furthermore, your post doesn't answer my question. It's a shady rule and needs to be removed.

Yeah, i do agree that the rule needs to be removed to prevent abuse. jjleblanc25 does have a point, the rule should be removed, but until the rule is removed, there is not much a player can do about it, so why not use it?

this is not against the rules, it is part of the freestyle experience. However feel free to rate him according to your standards.
also, please give me a turn number, cause starting your turn and not ending it should not give someone a second start

How is skirting a rule to achieve SECIFICALLY what the rule is trying to prevent "part of the experience?"
And yes, as Darwins_Bane pointed out, Kiron missed the turn, and xiangwang moved immediately. Having said that, if Kiron was still logged in, he could have easily began his turn, even if xiangwang hadn't started his. That's most definitely a problem, as it gives the opportunity for double turns. which again, is what you want to prevent.
I think that saying it's part of the experience is similar to saying "well, I don't want to bother giving a reason for defending this rule."

If you want to see quite blatantly how this rule is abused, check out this game:
5440450 (sorry, I don't know how to hyperlink it) - round 3 into round 4. My opponent got back-to-back turns and won.
Seriously, this rule needs to be fixed.

Actually, that loophole was fixed (about ten days after your game.) You can see the thread
here.
Regarding your original question, that rule is pretty screwed up. I suggest you either use it to your advantage or avoid freestyle altogether (that's what I do.)
Also, to hyperlink games use [game]game #[/game], for example

Am I the only one that see the absurdity that everyone says "that rule is screwed up" and yet no one wants to make the EASY fix to remedy it??!

This isn't going to get fixed. In this
thread, lackattack explicitly said that it wasn't a bug. I guess you could make a suggestion that the rule be changed, in which case it might be changed sometime around 2014.

this is not
in the top one your opponent got a double turn, which is of course unfair and the loophole was removed as blinkadyblink said
the second one Kiron did
not get a double turn. All he did was wait for someone else to come take their turn before you got your bonus. That may be a bit shady and you can rate accordingly, but that's just using the rules to your advantage. You have an hour to take your turn, so Kiron has every right to use however much of that time he wants. The unfair thing would be if he got to go a second time in a row, like I said, he didn't.
And it's not an easy fix, the only thing lack can do is give you less time to take your turn, but that doesn't really help anything

Just an observation, tell me where you do not follow.
Freestyle allows you to play without a predetermined sequence.
The last player to move may not be the first to play in order to prevent back to back turns.
if someone ELSE took a turn
after you had your last turn, then you are again free to move.
For team games, one squad moves like 1 person with regards to last moving. So the last player equals the last player of the squad that moved last of all, then the entire squad must wait until someone on another squad takes their turn, OR wait 12 hours )
Since there is no fixed order of moving, but with the restriction that you can move only once per round, it can be adventagious to time your last move with the start of someone else and thus protect your bonuses. I do not like it, so i'd advocate staying away from freestyle, but this is a smart tactic and certainly not cheap.
