OK, so this might sound crazy and first, but there is method to my madness.

So each forum has a number right, for example, GD is 6 as can be seen here:

See the little f=6 at the end?

So Flame Wars was number 7, so this is Flame Wars

Notice how it says you are not authorised to read it? It is still there.

Forums that have been deleted show this message:
"The forum you selected does not exist."

Therefore Flame Wars still exists right?
The question is, why is lackattack hiding Flame Wars from us?

why else would he be hiding it...the same reason it was taken away?

maybe he didn't deleted,to keep the post count...but as you can't see it is the same as it didn't existed

they are protecting the children,

Perhaps you can send Lackattack a PM and get his thoughts on this, oh wait, thats right, he doesnt accept pm's from the great unwashed masses.

I actually don't miss FW. It feels to me like the whole site's focus has shifted recently (especially in the last few months) to a much better place. Losing flame wars was like puberty! It feels less like a teenage cult and more like a place I could introduce my extended family to now...

How is it that a thread with flame wars in it's titled not been locked yet? Where is the fear now CC? lol

Me too. I barely ever wandered in there when it was around, but some of the wittiest, most entertaining posters were regulars there, and I know now that their best material had to be in that forum.

If they are still locked in a file somewhere lack should sell them as a download, with the express warning never to post them on the CC forums. People obey the rules very well, so Im sure that would not be a problem.

At one point flame wars got so bad however, that I suspect there were actually legal reasons for removing them. If I were him, id make sure they were burned hotter than even most of the flamers themselves were.

I must admit, I wouldn't mind reading through all the archived threads in Flame Wars. It would make for an entertaining waste of a couple of days.

I remember the Flame Wars really well and i apreciate a lot of people enjoyed them. I never really got it though. Why go on a forum to "shout abuse" at someone. Its hardly good for venting. There were a lot of witty people but, there were also a lot of kids just shouting expletives. Personally i dont think CC has suffered much for the loss.

Also, when i was last here the forums had deteriorated in a big way, nothing but crap being posted. Its a lot better now and that may well be in part, due to the lack of flame wars.
