But the worst announcer/commentator I have ever seen.

I think he is a really good comedian for sure.
His announcing for MMA is pretty good too. I like Frank Mir better, but Rogan does a good job of describing the situation and what techniques or moves a fighter needs to do in order to either escape, advance, submit, defend, whatever.
Muy_thaiguy, can you articulate a little more why you think he is a bad announcer/commentator?

I used to agree with you, but his stile has really grown on me..
I hated him for doing the man show, and his stint there did suck, but in retrospect he's a much better comedian/figure than Jimmey Kimmel or Adam Corola.
They're not even worth looking up the spelling for imo..

Well, to start (at least since the last time I watched the UFC) he would always call the move about 30 seconds after it happened, give the wrong name to techniques, and one particular moment, is during a fight when he said that the loud slapping sound from a kick meant it hurt more than the quieter thud ones. That one was blown up in his face after the fight when the fighter that had taken those kicks said he heard Joe when he said that, and had offered to prove him worng. And I can speak from experience as well that the quieter kick hurts a LOT more.

Ok, I'm not a super experienced BJJ practitioner, so I might not have the knowledge to notice when he miscalls some moves.
I always questioned that snapping sound kick thing though. The snapping sound usually in my experience (based on limited karate experience) means it will sting, and have more pain just on the surface, like on the skin. The thuds seemed to be more dull but reaching deeper, which (like a liver shot especiallly) are more able to really debilitate the fighter. Focusing on kicks to the legs, it always looked like the thuds on the thigh were the ones that buckled the fighter's leg, not the slapping sound ones.
Though to be fair, I think the damage from the kicks would be ranked like this:
1 (weakest) - light or low-power thuds
2 (next weakest) light snap sound
3 (next weakest) hard snap sound
4 (more painful/damaging) hard or high-power thuds
So the thuds are both the least and the most damaging with the snaps tending towards the middle. That is just a tendency.
Haha, I could really see how a fighter hearing the mistaken commentary could get really pissed off, especially if they're the ones nursing the bruised and broken ribs, not the guy with the microphone.
Who do you think are the best MMA announcers?

Former fighters who have been in the ring or cage (depending on the group they were in) would be the best as they actually know what is going on and know what works, etc.

I always thought Frank Mir was pretty decent.
