Pick your region, pick your map. You may not play on it in Round 1 (only 8 maps from each grouping get played in Round 1 and it'll be first come first served) but if you don't, you'll be slotted so that you'll be playing it in Round 2-if you advance that far. All three games in each round will be on the same map. Each region has 12 or 13 maps in it. All will be played within the region and if you lose the best of 3 you're out.
Now, understand that only 16 players will make it into each region and it will be the first 16 to sign up so if you pick a region that doesn't have a slot open I will put you into another one at my discretion (usually one that is slower filling). Also if 2 people select a map from the region, those are the two that will play it so have another choice if necessary.
