So wasnt there supposed to be some big huge, CC changing update being released around this time, whatever happened to that?

Hi Hoff,
I though I could get the update done during some time off I had for the holidays. I did manage to make a lot of behind-the-scenes improvements but things went much slower than expected and I hadn't got to the fun stuff.
I'm still working on the update, can't tell when it will be finished. Sorry to disappoint

instead of one mega-update, could you do a bunch of mini-updates so the site wont have to sit unchanging for a long time. that would keep most people quiet, and it would also work a lot better for the psycological aspect of enjoying the site. If there is nothing going on for a long time, people may think "its not changing and not going to get better so im leaving"
if you did small updates a lot,, people would stay more to see whats coming next.

Re: Super Update?
I 2nd this. landgrab and grand strategy do little updates.
desau sometimes does updates without posting notices. the people who do grand strategy are always posting notices on new updates.

Personally i feel that CC in it self rocks.
When i paid for my premium i paid for what CC was there and then.
Therefore any updates are a bonus.
Not sucking up to the powers that be i just know i would get irritated if people started hassling me for something that is not their perogative to take.
So there

hassling? No simply inquiring for the benefit of the site. CC is awesome in within itself, but whats wrong with improving it? After awhile the same thign can get boring. You don't want people getting bored with your site, you want to keep the people you got and gain more. By adding updates you keep more people you already got and improve the site so that more people will join that would not have joined or stayed previously.
I know lack works hard on the site, that pretty much goes without saying. I'm not in any games currently because I dont have enough interest to go on everyday and take my turns. Now I just come back acouple times a week, check the forums, check for updates, and if nothing exciting is going on i'll leave again. I bet alot of people are the same. So quit hassling me...just sush

I understand what you're saying Hoff and I'm well aware of the dangers of letting CC go stale. Unfortunately I'm still tied up with non-CC work.
I don't want to make promises I can't keep (good thing I never specified the year of that xmas update
) but I am gunning for a Feb 22nd update.
The good news is that as of March 31st CC will start to improve rapidly. More about that later...
