What is the most ethical way to quit a speed game?

Obviously this is something one tries to avoid, but sometimes life gets in the way.
Just shut down?
Announce it in the comments?
Say, "I am quitting after round XX"?

Say "Sorry I gtg (insert the sad reason why here) good luck all."
If you are really naughty, wait until you are about to get kicked out and come back in and win the game.
