Retirement :(

I absolutely LOVE this site. It's free, I love the idea of Conquer Club. But...I think it has come to an end for me. You see, I play games to have fun. And I haven't had fun here for awhile. I have been playing RISK since I was 6 years old...I know all the nuances and strategies but the thing is...I have NO use for strategy here. I consistantly lose insane amounts of troops in a row. I lose first two of almost EVERY battle. I'm not just talking about a run of bad dice here folks, I'm talking all out armoggaedon, suicide dice. I win maybe 20-30% of my rolls, and in my best games I'll get 50%. And this just leads to frustration and bitching like I am doing now. So why put myself and everyone I play with through it? I'm not anymore. I am taking an indefinate leave of absence. I know...who are you...no one cares. Well I have made a few friends here and most of you are a pleasure to play with. I wish all of you the best of luck, I can't do it anymore, every turn just infuriates me. I can handle losing but not like this.

Ok, I guess that retirement could be considered a strategy.

If you go premium that 25$ buys you into the next level of dice.

Dice are like dating. If the first girl says "no," stop, turn around and ask another. If the dice are bad, stop, wait for your next turn.

Every time we are talking about the dice during the first few turns I get this feeling that I have been there - and that I have seen that. For me the most annoying thing is that that too many players don't play to win. They do too risky maneuvers and if the luck is on their side they screw your game and if not, their game is ruined - and they do it even when you are your back against the wall and they absolutely know that you will fight until your last man.

I have managed to rebound many times and ended up winning the game just by surviving somehow from the beating in the beginning and in my opinion, patience in this game is a virtue - especially with the kind of players I was talking about.

I know what you are saying about you loose the first two of every battle. it seems like I used the win all three attacking a 3 army territory all the time. lately I almost never ever ever have this happen. I just can't attack a 3 and will all 3 without loosing. I used to do it all the time even to the point of doing it 3-4 times in one turn~! now I bet it happens 3-4 times in one game. I would just like it if they did the actual dice different. They have 5 numbers come up every turn even if you aren't using 5 dice. I would feel better If they actually rolled as many dice as I use and then roll the defenders dice. I study chaos and stuff like that and I am sure it would matter spiritually if not technically.

Its down to your approach as well. If you're talking about a standard game where you are deploying 3 on a 3 to make 6, and expecting to win the 6 v 3 all the time, you're being unreasonable. Lots of good players will tell you that you should ask yourself 'if' I should attack on the first round, not 'what' I should attack.

I have received the armageddon dice on 2 streaky occassions and am in one hell of a one now. Can't for the life of me even take a single, my friend Mr C has shown me the light. I'm about to move on and forget the strategies that are important because it matters little when an 8 V 1 or a 12 v 3 goes nowhere time after time. You go from the lower ranks to the higher ranks playing strategy you think then check dice analyser and realise even with the best strategies it means nothing with the streaky dice you witness from Random.org..not random just packaged dice.

Finishing my games off and not joining anymore. Do not send me any more invites..all declined.
