Bonuses and Spoils Question

I wish I could phrase this question better, but I am unfamiliar with a lot of terminology of this game. So here goes.

How do you earn the spoils? What are the worth of these spoils? How can you cash in spoils twice a turn?

You earn spoils if you are in a game that has spoils. e.g. you cannot get spoils if the game says NO SPOILS.

the worth of the spoils is varying. with escalating they all start at 4 and increase from there, so the first one to cash in always gets 4, the second 6.

you can cash in twice or more times a turn. You will always have to cash in when you have 5, but if you have 4 and you eliminate an opponant who also has spoils you will go over 4. (5 or higher) then at that time and point you will also have to cash in those cards. This is more common in escalating games where someone sweeps the board.
