What do people do in game that annoys you the most?

I really hate it when I'm playing a 1vs1 game that is moving briskly until I get the upper hand. Then suddenly the other player starts missing turns and waiting until the last second to move. Accept losing gracefully!!!!!

i hate it when my rank is abnormally low(like now) and i join a 1v1 vs some private and they call me noob.

oh, and people that cash early in multiplayer escalating games...

I have a lot:

(1) Player X tries to convince Players Y and Z that Player A is the strongest (when he/she is not).
(2) When Players Y and Z look at the game chat instead of the game log to see who is the strongest (see above).
(3) Players that cash too early in escalating games (but only when they do it to get that all important Central American bonus... it doesn't bother me when they cash early to eliminate).
(4) As someone else indicated, when noobs call me a noob.
(5) People that accuse me of using secret diplomacy (has only happend three times, but annoys the sh!t out of me).
(6) Players that don't read the game chat.

The thing I find more annoying than anything is when idiots hit/take one of your stacks in eliminating games and as a result ruin the game.

Noobs at escalating games tick me off.... that's basically it.

There's quite a few.

People trying to manipulate the game in Game Chat. Yes, I'm talking about [player]GENERAL STONEHAM[/player].

QFT..... Terrible shots that should never be taken... and then they claim it on dice...

People who don't know how to play escalating. Someone who doesn't understand the game type can really ruin an otherwise decent game.

People who use "noob", and people who are offended at being called a "noob". Both just speak to a baseless level of arrogance. Makes me laugh though.

people chewing loudly, not taking off their shows when they come in, people who blow smoke in my face, people who dont call me Steven Telferson, etc.

You have that all happen In Game?

People who say gg better luck next time etc in 1v1 when they clearly won because of dice or drop

No...that's half the fun.

It may be fascinating or possibly cathartic for you to talk about your bad/non-random dice but believe me when I tell you it is boring for the rest of us.

Try my technique... when I start to see that happening I type something like this:

"The game chat is rarely a good indicator of relative strengths of players. Try reading the game log."

Most people seem to understand that once I actually type it. Some don't. Some just seem to think that the dude getting 3 per turn is in a stronger position than the dude getting 23 per turn.

Hahahaha, i do #1, and #2 all the time, or used to, in 4-player games. It's a good tactic occasionally to weed out the fools who cant decide on their own, and need someone to tell them who to attack. But i have not played a 4-player game that is not part of a tournament or a xi game, where i dont do such shenanigans since it's not to my advantage to do so.

Also, #6 is one of my pet peeves, too.

Hm, biggest in game pet peeves...maybe excessive gloating? I'm all for trumpeting one's own wins (damn right) to a limit, but past that limit it just seems annoying.

1. 3 vs 2 attacking! unless you actually win it lol

2. And blaming dice in public chat i complain all the time but usually to my partners only, there have been some games where i will publicly say wow on dice but not often and rarely blame a loss on dice to the other team. Cause usually after a day or so i realize that they played a great stratigy. Not saying that i have not done my own pet peeve before i know i have but for some people its every single time you play them.

Those starndard and dubs games that some bull shit truce turns into All against one when the one isn't even the leader. (The sweet part is usually the arse that instigates the truce doesn't win)

Those of you who play dubs & turn it into a quad game how about ya join a fuchin quad game to begin with...

Right, the games devolve (for better or worse you may argue) in Diplomacy I usually hope to avoid. Though certainly an aspect of the game, I tend to wish it out most of my games.

I wish there was a way to have a "no diplomacy" option. I understand it's not feasible...
