This is also posted in the main page on the thread, but feel free to leave your feedback via pm or in this thread...also, conference tourneys have started for those leagues that have wrapped up the regular season. Coaches will be pm'd when they have a tourney game and will have 72 hours to join their game.
*I'm taking suggestions for improving the league next season.
Here are ideas I plan to install...
1. Maps will be limited in 2008 to favor better 1 vs. 1 play (no more doodle earth, pearl harbor, age of realms, etc)
2. I plan to post a full season schedule before the season begins.
3. I will start with an expanded reserves list, so we have more depth going into the season.
4. Due to the expected (at least hoped for) surge in teams next season, I won't be able to tally "scores" for all of the games.
Here's hoping we get 150 or more schools in for the 2008 season...look for it in the threads in October...I'll probably pm everyone that joined this year to give them a heads up.
Thanks for playing this season everyone, especially those that stuck it out through losing campaigns...much appreciated. Please, feel free to give me your suggestions about what you would like to see next year.

No bracketology this week...I want to keep some level of suspense for the selection show...I will reveal the March Madness and NIT brackets live online in this thread at a time to be set after the conference tourneys are completed...I will post an update in this thread with that scheduled time.

First off, awesome job with this league, I was kind of skeptical joining at 1st but it was great.
I agree that some maps arent really as 1 v 1 friendly, but thats kind of a good part of the tourney, trying out new maps that you wouldnt have played before. But I can definately see why some maps *cough* Doodle Earth *cough* could be taken out.
And you can mark me down for next season, hope you match the level this one reached

For season 2 will our current teams be reserved for those who wish to remain?

I also like Map variety - in fact I say ban the standard map - I also agree that certain maps are not great for 1 on 1 but that is the fun of a home field advantage - which is a big deal in college basketball

Southern Illinois wins their first rd. match and now goes up against Missouri St. If they could beat the Top Ten team then they might draw enough attention to move on too the NCAA Tournament. This is when all matters for the bubble teams and Southern Illinois believes they will rise to the top.

and more my friend, and more...hoping to push 150 schools next year, so we can have a full 64-team March Madness bracket.

Rank will still come into it somewhat, but I will send pms to everyone a week ahead of time next season allowing them to reserve spots and they will almost for sure get to keep their same school if they would prefer that.

i hope that means i can play Northwestern next year.
(as one team that's never made the Big Dance, my rank couldn't possibly be too low, big ten team or not....)

Yes, each league will have a tourney, but I'm still waiting on a few games to wrap up in the SEC and ACC before I can get those tourneys seeded correctly...hopefully they will all be up and moving within the next 24 hours.
The Big East bracket hasn't been uploaded yet because the photobucket site was down last night, but first-round games have been pm'd.
I will set the eligible quarterfinals games Thursday afternoon at some point.
We have our first winner...Southern Illinois 52-29 over Illinois State in the first round of the Missouri Valley.

All available quarterfinal matchups have been sent out...if you still haven't had a game it's because your opponent has not yet been set or in the case of the ACC and SEC I'm awaiting the final regular-season results.
I will post updated brackets/standings and new games late tonight.
