I'm thrilled with my 13 seed. I was worried that my struggles at the end of the season would outweigh my strong play against some of the top seeds.

Duke will look to pull off a few upsets in the near future!!

Hey flex, I noticed you put Virginia Tech in both the NIT (as a 1 seed) and the big dance (as a 15).

Hey Flex, loved the tournament, first of all, but a 16-14 overall record and making it to the semi final game in the BigSky conference tourney doesn't even warrant an invite to the NIT? :-s

I'm guessing you are still making one of the tournaments as the brackets are not done yet. Flex is still waiting on a few games to finish before making all the final seedings.

Yes, vyks has it right...you are in a mix of about 3-5 teams that can't be decided until a couple conference tourney finals are completed...I thought they'd be finished by now, so I made today selection day. But you will definitely be in either the NCAA or NIT...start cheering for the favorites to win those league tourneys :)

New Mexico is in after winning the WAC tourney, which knocks Seton Hall into the NIT bracket.

One conference tourney of relevance (MAC) remaining, and the final brackets will be official.

Purdue is happy about its NIT bid but disagrees with being seeded #4 when his conference mate Illinois got a #2 despite losing in the 1st round of the Big 10 tourney and Purdue "beat" Minnesota.

Thanks again Flex for the organized nature of this tourney!

I was going to make a similar complaint about a conference mate (St. Bonnies) getting a higher seeding for reasons unknown, but then I realized I'd much rather play you than Buffalo (who appears to be on quite the win streak) - so my lips are sealed. :)

Hmph I should be a higher seed, I mean honestly Nebraska is a 11 seed. Honestly I demolished Nebraska both times they should be #13 seed but w.e. works. I'm pwning #3 seed Florida in our 1st game.

#2 USC in early trouble with the upset minded Longhorns.

http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=4377734

Texas used a Downtown Drop bonus as a launching pad for the early lead. USC tried to break that bonus in the first round and failed to win a card. The Horns are wary of the 2nd half of this game as USC is on the arms race home court.

I take it back!

Xavier has already lost its 1st round NIT game against Purdue, when the referees inexplicably gave the Purdue team a HUGE 2 point lead before the game even started.

http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=4377234

Coach Limbo was ejected before the ball hit the hardwood when he punched the head referee in the face and lit the Purdue mascot on fire.

Luckily Gene Keady was in the crowd to douse the Boilermaker with enough hair grease to put the fire out.

Speaking of fires, after some early "gift" calls by the refs, Purdue has gone into halftime up big time and unless Xavier can pull out a huge "bonus", this one might be over quickly in the second half.

#4 seeding be damned.

To be honest...not as much thought was put into seeding the NIT tournament...most of my time was spent with exhaustive study for the NCAA tourney.

Nebraska got a slight nod over Colorado based on its higher finish in the regular season and its three wins over tourney-teams Baylor and Texas Tech.

All right...the brackets have been updated...a few early results are in, and map 2s have gone out for the NCAA field.

when checking scores...
Game start = no maps complete
First half = 1 map complete
Second half = 2 maps complete
Final = (yes, final...3 maps complete)

I'm on the ropes after losing map one despite having a slight early edge over the defending champion Auburn. I've called a 30-second timeout to try and rally the troops before heading to Feudal War.

How did Michigan make the tournament with a 15 and 17 record and 7 - 11 in conference record. Don't believe they won their conference tournament.

Well flex, in true Northwestern style, I went 6-23 and didn't make either tourney.

No matter though--this was fun. And i'm going to put more thought into my home court next year, because...yeah. :-)

Well played everyone!

Sorry you had your bubble burst shoop...it was close between those final group of teams. Michigan was one of the final at-large teams to get in, based largely on their huge number of quality wins over other highly-touted tourney teams including Eastern Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois State and overall No. 1 UCLA -- that was just too much not to find a place in the field somewhere for the Wolverines.

4 words you don't want to read when you show up for your very first turn in the Big Dance:
"Sorry about the drop"

#2 seed Kansas State does not like the way the referees set up this one.
Game 4377859
Not a good hole to be in. It's gonna be a tough comeback, but coach Lincecum has brought these boys back from the brink before...

Coach Ricrem's Vermont squad is gunning for the first round upset after opening up an early lead on 2 seed Houston in the first half (4377471). Playing in front of a sympathetic crowd at the neutral site (same home map that Vermont has played on all season) has helped the catamounts gain an early lead, but Ricrem is wary of the massive push Houston is certainly going to make as they head into the 2nd half (playing on Feudal where Vermont has not won, like ever.) Stay tuned for continuing coverage and post game reaction here on the CC network!

So... this scoring system is rather silly when it comes to big maps and players not finishing off their opponents.

ie: I just lost on NYC in 10 rounds, and I feel that the game yesterday I won "better" than he won today.

However, since the bonuses at the end of the game were ridiculous (27 vs 3, 30 vs 3, etc etc) he blows me out by 32 points if I add it up correctly? In the game yesterday I was "destroying" him at the end, but the bonuses were 6v3 or 7v3.

So even if I win tomorrow, on a small map, there's a good chance I won't win the match even taking 2 of 3.
