I like the idea because I agree that it would add another difficult and hard to master version of play, involving more than basic tactics. You have to plan accordingly, however I would be interested to see if the luck factor in these games would really go down, you get knocked out of a bonus area by two territs, and the game is over. At the same time, in larger games, it would be kinda cool. I'm in agreement with the idea.

Most certainly it is less sensible to the luck factor. Luck plays still a part in the game, but not too much. You should try joining one of the AA tournaments to se by yourself.

Or find some AA games within the Experimental Games user group. I haven't checked it in a while, but I presume they're still organizing games there.

That's why I run tournaments. It's easier to find players that way

I have faith this will be implemented... eventually

Meanwhile we'll always have AA Tournaments

I've played some AA-games when I sat a friend's account and the idea is very nice. I stand behind this suggestion completely, because it gives CC a new dimension. Perhaps a dimension this site needs to be inventive.

I like this idea! I can't believe I haven't seen it yet! Unlimited attacks (what we have now

) is good because the games are quickly over but you don't always want a quick game. Of course there are already ways to make the games last a very long time. But no current setting really brings what this suggestion offers. Instead of just stalemates where everybody stacks, games with adjacent attacks could be full of action AND last a long time. Looking forward to play adjacent attacks games and I give this suggestion my full support!! Oliver what was that AA tournament you were talking about? I'd like to be in the next time you set one up

!

You can also find attempts to get games going in the Experimental Gamers usergroup. I'm sure they would be happy to see you over there since things have apparently slowed done some.

AA is definatley something that should happen, its not going to be everyone cup of tea same as freestyle.
The tounaments played in this style make you think much more, will be fantastic when they can be played foggy.

Given my support long time ago, but never have a chance to try
@Gimli : Can you invite me to an AA-Game? I think a 4-5 Players-Game on Classic or Doodle Earth is a good start to learn

this would piss me off like:
1) Too Long on big maps
2) 20 round slow death
3) lets say you got all of north america, eastern russia, hawaii, iceland. No matter what you will still get your bonus

1) Then don't play the option on larger maps
2) Then don't fight back at the end. Most maps will finish within 5-6 turns at end game.
3) That's one of the major points and benefits to the setting. The only way to break the bonus at that point is to gain ground, which in most normal circumstances is quite possible and if it isn't at that point, the game's over in a few rounds regardless.

I agree. Point 3 is one of the major benefits of this setting. You actually have to develop an strategy for the entire game, and not depend on just one lucky strike.
By the way, 2012AA Tournament just strating...

At this point I think I have just accepted this will never be a reality.

Lack and I were just talking about this again a couple of days ago. I reminded him how much I think it would add a way to play, and he was intrigued by more so than when we discussed it earlier...
I hold out hope!

I'm always holding out hope, though admittedly it's easier for me now that I'm on a temporary vacation from CC. It's good to hear that it's at least on Lack's radar at this point.

I'm all for new gameplay options and this seems to be a popular one

I think it is something I'd probably play a good 25% of the time as a change of pace. Hope to see it!
