One of these are Fog/Trench/NoSpoils and No Round Limit ... before I accept the match and get stuck in the challenge for what will probably be a long time I would like to suggest that there is something put in the Challenge rules regarding the settings .... not only does it block other challenges but since it will go on so long it will also be a pain to keep track of while the players continue other challenges etc ...

Please let me know your thoughts ....

I am thinking there should either be a limit on the selection of only smaller maps if these settings are used ... or mandatory round limit ... or maybe the game can be created with the settings but the person creating the game MUST WIN it within a certain number of rounds before the game is considered a loss for this contest.

FYI Elric, game finder says there's only 495 of these games with matching map and settings. Just scanning through, there's a handful of 17-20 rounders, and most are between 11-16. None so far past 20.

Sorry, dhall. Was a surprise to me, though, especially the Trenches, as it's a map Ive not played much at all.

Rule #4 covers this, "All matches are best two (2) out of three (3). Polymorph games are NOT allowed. The challenger creates a game and conditions of their choosing, the challenged player creates a game and conditions of their choosing. The CHALLENGER creates a random map with Automatic, Escalating, Chained, Sunny, No Trench conditions."

Round limits have never been an issue in the past and some games have been rather long because of the settings created by the player.

I did my own search of these settings (2 player, Sandard, World 2.1, auto, seq, no spoils, fog, trench) and came up with 374 finished games. My findings were consistent with dhallmeyer's.

So, if you are looking for a ruling, then here it is...The match and game are legit.

If that sucker were a 12-player game, you'd probably be playing forever, but 1v1 should finish within 20 rounds or so, Elric.

And well done on the beatdown, Steve!

I guess I'll challenge tamaynet next. =)

There's a special place in Hell reserved for those who force others to play on Hive.

Oh well, I shall accept. Before the timer runs out. Maybe.

You might have to renew my invites tomorrow while I gather my courage for this ordeal.

I see your games buddy.

I still have 1 game to play with ebt1972 from my challenge further up the page. I'm waiting on him to invite me to his home game (I sent him a reminder PM).

Can I play your games aad0906 before finishing?

Hi ... even though your games have not been added to the Ladder spreadsheet .... you are allowed to be playing one series of matches as the person challenging someone at the same time as somebody sends a set of games challenging you.

Good luck on your tie-break match with ebt1972 ... get your game sent off to aad0906 and fend off his challenge!!

Welcome to the Ladder .. and enjoy your battles!

Since neither t4mcr53s2 or Dukasaur has issued a challenge against chapcrap for the #1 position, I'm allowing Aussie02 to reissue a challenge without having to wait.
