sully800 wrote:The idea is good, but all of those maps are very dated. They all seem to date from after season 2 and include none of the new info/locations from season 3. And we did learn a lot more!

Jacob....the Looking Glass...the radio tower....Mikail's house (yeah I don't know how to spell it)....the path of the sonic fence, etc etc. It would be interesting to see how they all fit into these visual representations.

Well Jacob would just be put somewhere in the middle of the jungle.

The looking glass is just off shore of the cable.

the radio tower is in the dark territory near rossueaus bunker.

and mikhails house/the flame is inland from the cable near the centre of the island.

also the sonic fence would just be placed as a one way border between a couple of territories.

The show only has three more seasons left... 16 episodes per season. It was announced by ABC recently.

http://www.tv.com/story/9482.html?q=lost&tag=search_results;additional_links;0

I can wait three more years as I'd rather see it done properly or not at all.

Slight addendum to starting positions...

If a 2 player game...

Then you will have 2 ships each and 2 neutral ships (Which are effectively out of the game)

i definately think this is a overall better map of the island of lost. everything seems to fit perfectly together. the only thing i would change on this map is possibly bring the cable a little closer to the survivors camp, since it was literally a walk down the beach for desmond/charlie/hurley/jin/sayid etc.

also, for some reason some essential places are missing e.g. black rock and the flame?!

but apart from that, ithink this will be the best map to start off with, if you can start it :P

Copyright permission will still need to be sought after before this project begins. Check the How to Make a Map thread for how to deal with copyright.

Post some source material for people to work off or at least an image of the world so those not familiar with the books can see what it looks like.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westeros

this page has some info on the Geography and Houses which would be good to work into the map.

If you're clever (whoever you are) you could also work in the land beyond the wall and the lands of the summer sea.

After several weeks of being untouched (due to the frustration of downloading planet images over dial-up... I miss hi-speed...) my Star Wars map is finally being worked on again. I'm going for between 80 and 100 planets since that is what most people are wanting and should provide the epic scale the map needs. What I have done so far looks much better than in my previous postings but unfortunately I can't post the new image now since it's on a different computer. However, I will try to get something on here soon. I have started adding the actual planet images and labels. The map sizes will be 600 by 600 and 800 by 800.

@ Mordeth

Endor will be a Superweapon resource planet. Its affiliation with the second Death Star will not have anything to do with the map, but the reasons it was chosen by the Empire are the same reasons I chose to make it a superweapon planet on this map. It has very few entrances, is nearby planets of great resources, and is not on any Hyperlanes. That simply means it's a great planet for making Superweapons on regardless of what faction possesses it and when. The other Superweapon planets I have on the map off the top of my head are Byss and The Maw. All the movie planets and planets from major games and books will be on the map, of course.

@ weirdbro

I have all the planet info I need and I have about 250 images to work with now, so I shouldn't have any problems. If I do have some though, I'll check with Wookiepedia. If that doesn't help, I'll post them here.

@ BeakerWMA

I haven't looked at those maps. I should, but I'm pretty sure everything's in the location it's supposed to be. A Star Trek map would be cool but I'm not sure how it'd be handled. Star Trek's "Expanded Universe" isn't as well maintained as Star Wars' EU is and making a map that agrees with everything would be difficult. Continents would be pretty obvious though: Federation, Klingon, Romulan, Dominion, etc.

Yes, I'm too lazy to use Quote...

Looks interesting but height may be a problem. I really should get around to actually reading the books one day.

This is from "The song of Ice and Fire" by George R.R. Martin

Who hasn't read it yet should do so as soon as possible!

Best book I ever read

This looks like fun. I might be interested in doing it. However it looks like it might be better suited as a two map package. North map and a South map. I don't know how this would effect the purpose and gameplay though. Let me know Spokers.

EDIT: Looking at the North and South maps. They overlap a little. We might be able to get everything in there. And waht of the other two maps from the link Spokers.

What do you think of a prison map. You could have areas like Cell Block A, B, C, Warden's Office, the Yard, etc. I think it could be really cool. What are some other thoughts on this?

a LABRYNTH series

hopefully my scanner will work soon let me know if anyone would want o try and create a computer generate map of my paper dawn map 8)i got bored after my final today which i aced mother fucka

To avoid the height problem, just rotate the map 90 degrees, (obviously all of the text, mountains, trees, etc would need to rotate as well).

Then you just point a North arrow corresponding to the true direction of north and you are good to go on the map dimensions.

Yeah that would be sweet. There is zero chance the producers at ABC and Lost are going to give us permission to make a map...
So if there is someway to get around that little issue that would be sweet.
