For anyone who's interested:

This is the only active game of this tournament right now.
Game 6883006

The winner will advance to the Atlantic 10 finals; the NCAA tournament will begin after the A10 tourney is complete!

Yea it's been a while since I played lol. You should do a selection show. Announce 16 teams per day (1-4, 5-8, etc)

Congrats to Charlotte on winning the Atlantic 10 tournament and clinching the final automatic bid! =D> =D>

You'll now have to give the committee a few days to decide who gets in. I have visitors this weekend, so I'm guessing the bracket will be announced early next week. If it works out, flex has volunteered to do a "selection show" - once we hash out the details, I'll let him give further announcement on that.

The NCAA tournament will be as follows:
Best of 3 games
The higher seed will host one game on their home map for the season.
The remaining two games will be on the following settings: Random map, Sequential, Auto, Escalating, Chained, Sunny.
Freemiums, you will have to keep one slot open - just make sure you join the second game as soon as your first finishes, etc.
If two equal seeds face off in the final four, each team will host one game with the third game being random.

The NIT tournament will be as follows:
First three rounds:
One game, hosted by the higher seed.
Final two rounds:
Same as NCAA tournament.

Feel free to let me know of any questions you may have :)

Not sure of the timeline yet, but will post a date and hour when I get confirmation, but I'll plan for a "Selection Show" where the brackets will be revealed region-by-region in a Conquer Club live-chat room.

This may be subject to change, but I'm thinking 4 p.m. (PST) Wednesday, May 14, for our tournament selection show...you can find us in live chat to see the brackets revealed live with a chance to discuss.

I unfortunately won't be able to make the Selection Show. I know Auburn doesn't have much hope of making it, but I did have a strong finish to the season, so maybe that would be good enough for a 16 seed :).

Thanks to those of you who joined me for the Selection Show!

All of the brackets for the NCAA tournament are posted... The play-in games will come out tonight, and the rest of the first round games will come ASAP. I'll also release the NIT bracket by Saturday, if not before.

Also... a bit of feedback, if you would:
I was thinking about the Final Four, and I think I should change it so all Final Four games allow each team to host once and have the third game be random, regardless of rank. I'd said earlier that this would only occur if their ranks were equal; otherwise, the higher seed would "host" the game in the same manner as the rest of the tourney. Your thoughts?

Sorry I couldn't make it to the selection show. Hopefully the Ducks can hold up to being a #1 seed.

If I understand correctly:
  • The original (Flex's) rules call for 2 neutral maps + 1 higher-seed home game.
  • The amended rules call for 2 random maps + 1 higher-seed home game.
  • The proposed rules would have 1 random map + 1 higher-seed home game + 1 lower-seed home game.
Of these, I'd prefer option 2 (amended rules) with option 1 (Flex's rules) coming in a close 2nd.

The proposed rules would only be in force for the Final Four. However, unless I hear a lot of support otherwise, I'll stick with the current format, where that only kicks in if the two teams have the same seed.
