The tiebreaker game ended with ViperOverLord sweeping the rest of the players off their feet, giving jricart the consolation of runner-up in the tie breaker. Thus, ViperOverLord buys himself a spot in Round 2, while jricart's future remains uncertain, lying in the hands of the performance and strategy taken on by the players in Group 1's final game, where a stalemate seems to have taken place yet again.
The only thing between us and the next round is Group 1's final game. Odd to think that a tiebreaker game was completed before the actual round's games eh?
Apologies to everyone for the delay in finishing our game, but we're all just having far too much fun!! Could be awhile yet... no-one can really attack anyone at the moment...

Update
A week later since the last update, Group 1's players are all still going strong. No significant attacks made, and stacks growing ever larger. Hopefully the game reaches round 50 quickly, or somebody makes a move soon.

UpdateThough Group 1's game in Round 1 is still incomplete and
hahaha3hahaha is still in the game, Round 1 has come to a conclusion as
hahaha3hahaha has withdrawn from the tournament regardless of his placing and points earned in the game. Thus,
jricart will take the final spot on Round 2, having come in as runner up in the tiebreaker game.
Round 2 has began, as nobody in the remaining game of Round 1 is a freemium, and thus should have no trouble joining the new games of Round 2. Groupings were done randomly using Random.org as always (:
As with the previous round, every point is precious, so play it like you mean it!

Good luck!

Update
Good news - Round 1 has finally officially concluded! The last outstanding game in Round 1 finally reached completion, when hahaha3hahaha's patience paid off allowing him to take the win in the game. However, due to him withdrawing from the competition (as well as quitting CC), he will not be joining us in Round 2. It definitely is a pity to see such a good player go.
In Round 2 news, two games have been completed with riodeishere from Group 1 and jricart from Group 4 taking home the big money, and hoping to do the same in the following game. All other games see the players going strong, with no other elimination yet.

UpdateWell, this round seems to be moving a lot more slowly than the previous, with only 2 games being completed after close to a month. I'll be considering changing all the games to Escalating instead of Flat Rate, so do listen out for that (: Meanwhile, all games will end at Round 50, as previously stipulated.
I must really apologise for the slow pace this tournament is going at right now... I never expected so many games to reach standstills, and I apologise for any inconvenience caused

It proves everyone is taking the tournament seriously and don't want to throw any games away, you should take it as a compliment we all want to win so bad

Hahaha, well that's true too I guess... XD Thanks!
UpdateIn lieu of the long duration of games, I've decided to create games for every group. For now, every group which has all freemium members eliminated from its games will play 2 games at a time. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but I hope this'll help things to move along at a faster pace!
Meanwhile, I may consider changing the cards to Escalating from next round onwards. Please vote on the poll to express your views (:Thanks!
Edit: Sorry for the 6 options on the poll... For some reason the site isn't allowing me to leave it at just 2 options. Do note that all options with the same card options are actually the same, so it doesn't matter which of the 3 you choose.

Update
The scoreboard has received its first update of the round, and all games for the round have been created, with the exception of Game 3 for Group 2. Hopefully this will definitely speed things up... (:

Update
Scoreboard has been updated!
The speed of games have picked up, as players are now refraining from starting stacks in their games, playing nicely and offensively! Just yesterday our first game in this round to reach Round 50 had their scores tallied and finalised, as well as having completed their 2nd game at the same time, moving on to Game 3 for their Group 2. During this, General Flashman claimed the victory in both games and leaps to the top of the scoreboard, being the first player in this round to attain 2 victories to his name! The competition field is certainly getting tough!
At this point only 3 games remain to be completed, 1 each from Group 2, 3, and 5. Make this last stretch count!

Update
The long awaited finish of the last game of Round 2 finally came! Unfortunately, the results of this game has resulted in a tiebreaker to be needed between HaireWolf1 and madman7, where they will settle the dispute in a 1v1 on the Classic Map.
Meanwhile, all other groupings have been allocated, and Group 1 and 2 have kickstarted the round already, while Group 3 patiently awaits the arrival of their last opponent from the tiebreaker.
Do note that the cards have now been changed to Escalating, as voted by two thirds of the vote. Thanks for your input!

Thanks! (:
Update2 games have quickly reached completion, moving a lot faster thanks to the new escalating cards setting. The strategy required now is rather different now, so we shall see how our players fare in this round!
With only 5 spots available, 3 groups and 189 points up for grabs, we shall see how our players fight ruthlessly to get to the next and final round!

Update
jaseleo has decided to drop out of the tournament, and thus madman7 from the tiebreaker has joined the tournament, starting with a consolation 2 points as one who would have got eliminated first. We'll see if he can muster up enough points to get to the next round!
All groups are currently on their second game now.

Looks like I'm headed out at this stage. A shame, because I was doing well when it was flat rate, which of course is what the tournament was initally made as, and what I signed up for.
Very disappointed with the TO for changing it halfway through. A Flat Rate to Escalating change completely alters the gameplay.

I'm really terribly sorry for the change in gameplay, and I do understand that it's an entirely different ballgame. Honestly, I myself didn't want to change it, but I had been receiving multiple complaints on the slow movement of the tournament due to the stalemate games, so I decided to let the players settle it with a poll, instead of myself dictating. My deepest apologies once again.
UpdateAll groups now on to the third and final game.

Update
Only 2 games are left, and the scoreboard has been updated. overlander has assured himself a spot in the next round with his 2 wins in a row, and the outcome of his next game won't matter. Also, there may possibly be a huge tie across the 19-point people... So a tiebreaker may be in store for the third round in a row.

Update
Group 2's last game has ended, which has caused an interesting turnout on our scoreboard. The three 19-pointers from Group 1 find their places in the next round guaranteed, instead of hanging on a possible tiebreaker. They now jointly hold the second spot, and it certainly is amazing to see how 3 players from one group have made it to the next round together.
The last place remains in contention between bruno fountain, General Flashman, and HaireWolf1. If either of the latter 2 win their last game, they will land in a tie with the other Group 1 players, buying them a spot in the next round. If not, bruno fountain will claim the last spot with his score of 18, and be the sole representative from Group 2 in the top 5.

Update
The finals have begun!
overlander swept the points from his group, coming out tops in each of their 3 games. Because of this, he is the only one from Group 3 to have made it in, while bruno fountain is the sole representative for Group 2.
Let the games begin!

On to game two.

After sweeping the opponents in the previous game, jricart went into Game 2 with a target on his back, and was promptly eliminated at the first opportunity. Game 2 still ongoing slowly.
