Pedro, please don't take this the wrong way...I don't mean it in a bad way. However, isn't it just possible that the dice change that occurred actually made the dice more random (an improvmement), but because your previous strategy accounted for the way the old dice performed, that your old strategy needs to be tweaked a bit? I guess what I'm saying is...just because your old strategy worked with the way the dice were previously doesn't necessarily mean that your old strategy is the best strategy. It was just the best strategy for the way the dice were set up previously.
Also, I just have to point out the ironic quality in a hat-wearer complaining so vehemently about the dice that you're ready to leave, as if you wouldn't be at that rank still if it weren't for the dice.

I'd like to f*ck cc, it sounds fun. But I'm not down with the quitting part.
In my experience the dice have always sucked. I don't think I'm running into higher levels of suckagery. Though today has been pretty epic. Lost 8 trying to take 1, then I lost 10 and killed 2, then I lost 15 and killed 4. My dice run in circles. Mostly around me.

If any of my team mates show up in this thread they would be able to explain that it's amazing i manage to have a hat, even more incredible that i managed to make brig.

This is an idiotic statement. An economic downturn can hit a bum and a billionaire. Just because a billionaire has more money afterward doesn't mean he wasn't negatively impacted by the economic downturn (and perhaps even more so than the bum).
I'll vouch for Pedro, his dice blow. But to claim his complaint is ironic is to completely dismiss any strategy or skill he employs in games and attribute nearly all of it to mere luck which has apparently in your eyes run its course.
Like I said, stupid statement.

It's sad to see that the five good years you've had here have been scarred by the new dice system and unfortunate admin behavior. You have to cut lack some slack, though. He doesn't have very much time on his hands, being that this is is full-time job, and that he doesn't have a programmer (or whatever it is he's looking for), and I've heard he's been having RL issues... Anyways, I've had my ups and downs with the dice, but I can understand your frustrations - the "streakiness" of the dice is upsetting and curious, to say the least. As for Andy, this I must agree on. I feel that at times in more strict forums (like the Foundry), Andy adds little to nothing to the discussion at hand, and it bothers me at times, too, but I respect his willingness to post despite his duties nonetheless.
Cheers and all the best,
Sully

I'm with him ... this is insane bullshit dice ....up 500 points - down 500 points - strategy truly means so little anymore ... its ALL about the dice and the fucking insane crazy streaks.
So fed up with this that I am also just finishing my standard games (out of respect for opponents) and then I am gone. Just done with the constant bullshit.

If they were as bad as Pedro claims, he quite simply wouldn't be a hat-wearer any longer. The points simply wouldn't last.

Pretending that I dismissed any strategy or skill Pedro employs while I pointed out the irony of the situation is a far better example of a stupid statement. In fact, I did just the opposite of what you're attempting to claim, but you managed to delete that portion of my post. Good work.

Yeah why merge this one and not all the dice-bitching threads? At least stay consistent.

I'm forced to play team games to offset my dice. there is no point in me playing a non team game.

+1 almost all (90-95%) of my games are team games. If they werent i would have a lower rank, team game help minimize the effects of the dice.

Now this bit is interesting. We all know lack changed the way the dice files were interrogated. This is the first time I have seen this suggestion aired, that dice results have changed to become more random. Seems to me there are 3 possible outcomes of lack changing the interrogation of the dice files:
1. The dice become "less random" (forgive me mathematicians, that's the best way I can put it). That's what lots of people are complaining about.
2. The dice have not changed, just many players perceptions of the dice have changed and those players have grabbed a handle to complain about it. This is what the dice defenders have been saying.
3. The dice have become "more truly random" - woodie's the first person I know to have suggested this, and he is onto something here. As I have gained close on 1000 points in the time since the change that Pedro's lost close on 1000 points, I am entirely confident that the dice are more truly random, and that this is allowing more skilled players to win more often. (With the exception of course of my partner sam02 who is just on a lucky streak).
There is an option 4 however:
4. lack has changed the dice file and its' interrogation multiple times since we started complaining about the new dice. He just didn't tell us because we all complain so much when we think he is playing god. God (or lack) alone knows what we are playing with.

It's like being a wild Pokémon and CC's the jackass trainer trying to catch you. He throws a ball at you and you break free, then you realize he's got an entire sack of balls to throw. So it's either struggle through the barrage of balls, or submit to him.

Up 700 points in a matter of months - somewhat good strategy and somewhat good dice
DOWN 700 points in a week - bullshit dice
Goodbye CC - f*ck the bonus drops you won't do anything about and the rest of the bullshit people complain about and nothing ever comes of.
Too bad - the potential was there ... as more and more long timers fall off the map and find better places to spend their money, maybe you'll realize.

It already is a huge burden -- such a chore to take my turns everyday, but when i lose a 17 vs 9 roll, I just sit back and laugh now, because the end is in sight! Though it seems to be taking forever...
yeah, games that involve dice, there is always a chance that you will lose any roll, regardless of the situation.. it is unfortunate, but it is a part of this game we all love. losing 17 v 9 is not that uncommon, but i may advise that you try not using auto-attack, it can be fickle...
hey, i just lost two 9 vs 3 in a row, i tried it at home with real dice and i did not lost in 30 shots ( i mean come on ) ... weird ... but '' random '' right

Pedro's dice can make attacking a single look like the Charge of the Light Brigade.
As for him trying to make any kind of serious assault - it's like watching the first 15 minutes of Saving Private Ryan, but the version where Predator and Alien arrive to mop up most of the remains just before the giant asteroid hits the beach.
He keeps his hat because we simply avoid giving him any troops in team games in case he gets tempted to try a roll.
