Scores from leg 1 are still coming in, and Leg 2 scores are starting to come in now...

Standings updated! :)

If the games continue at this pace, I expect leg 3 to begin about the 2nd week of May, and if the trend holds, the tourney to be wrapped up by late summer-ish

** Be advised, there will be no time limit, as I did not get enough people saying yes. In fact, I had a very strong arguement against it, which I happen to support, now that I think about it some. **

Happy Sailing Everyone!!!

Standings Updated!

I had to take away points from some folks because they had deadbeated out of their games, and per tournament rules, they recieve 0 points for deadbeating out of games.

That said, congrats to our new leader, falcon85!

Standings have been updated

falcon is expanding his lead in leg 2 (and overall) but there are still a bunch of games left, so it's still anyone's to win!

I will be creating the match-ups and games for Leg 3 soon, but I will not send them out 'till both legs are completely finished

shoop is our new overall leader!

only 9 games left in leg2

I'm learning a few things from this, my first tourney... such as 12 games per person might be too many, and no spoils games can take forever (right abel ;) )

the next one won't be quite so heavy on the gameload.

Standings have been Updated

A couple of things that I'd like to mention.
1) blindmatt is no longer a Premium, and although I haven't been in contact with him to ask if he's still in, not having Premium disqualifies him anyway. I will be activating a reserve, or failing that, I will take his place myself.
2) While browsing through game chat logs, I noticed that there are some (myself included, actually) that don't have the "stomach" for drawn-out games, particularly the ones with no spoils and fog.
What are your thoughs on making the No Spoils games Terminator instead of Standard?

Please post here, or PM me. I will make my decision based on the answers that I get.
That's all for now..

Happy Sailing, everyone :D

I'm would support any measures taken to speed up those aweful no spoils games where there are no attacks for 10 or more rounds, and then when a player does attack someone, somebody else gets mad for someone making a move and handing another player the game.

While I agree that anything to speed up the games is good, I am not sure that turning them into terminator games is the answer as I think you would still just have them drawn out. I would recommend either going to 8 games per round for the remaining rounds and eliminating the no spoils games or stay at 12 and just make 6 escalating and 6 flat rate games.

I like the idea of 6 escalating and 6 flat rate - sounds like it could speed it up a fair bit
