I, for one, am INTRIGUED.
Maybe they can make us a big ole Team Battle Royale?
Ooh ... I like that idea. Wasn't quite sure how to handle the All-Star Game, but I knew I wanted to do something and just figured I had enough time to figure it out later. If anyone has other suggestions, please let me know.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The second set of games is out now. A few notes:
- You might notice there's a bit of a "lag" in having pitcher records affect game settings--some of your first games are done, but the records aren't reflected in the way I chose settings for the new set of games. This issue will be constant throughout the tourney, since I want to try setting up (at least) 2 series at a time and will therefore not always have the most up-to-date records when I do that.
- I have no idea why the image sizes (for the first and second set of current games in post #2) are different.
- Thanks to those of you who have sent me updates already as your games finish. Please, please, please keep doing this. It's very easy for me to check active games quickly right now, while there are only a few series going on, but as the tournament goes, this task will get progressively harder. Any help you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated.

The Toronto Blue Jays led by Manager Plash Ricrem, split their opening series of the year against the Detroit tigers 2-2. The ace of the staff Roy Halladay picked up his his first win of the year (4345245) and he was joined by Dustin Mcgowan (4345253) in the win column. However, Marcum and Litsch were less successful, suffering opening week losses (4345249) and (4345247). Ricrem was brief in his post game comments, saying that he "thought the team did an alright job, but thought they missed a couple of key opportunities to score some runs. We have to improve our situational hitting.."

Angels start off 3-1 at home. The fans waived little monkeys at Oakland all night long. Our best pitcher sruggled in the only loss of the series with Oakland but he vows he won't lose his next game at home.

Thanks again for the updates, folks. Just to get into the spirit:
The Boston Red Sox opened their season with a three-game sweep over division rival Tampa Bay. Playing at home in Actium Park ... or is that the Battle of Fenway? Whatever ... anyway, the Sox were able to use their home field to their advantage, wearing down the Rays with relentless offense and some excellent pitching from Beckett, Lester, and Matsuzaka.

Kansas City Royals @ Chicago White Sox
Grienke vs Danks - Danks wins. As usually the case the Royals provided no offensive help for Grienke. Rounds 4 through 7 provided only one card and put him in an impossible position.
Quisenberry vs Floyd - Quisenberry wins. Both teams scored quickly acquiring bonuses on opposite sides of the field. Then the Royals were just able to manage more extra base hits (bigger flat rate cards) than the White Sox.
Saberhagen vs Buehle - It's the bottom of the ninth with the Royals in control. Soria has been brought in to close. Unless the White Sox can hit a couple big HRs (need a 3-card mixed set now) the Royals will close in out.
*UPDATE* - Saberhagen gets the win.

Good to see you're playing this in character.
Thanks again for the updates, folks ... expect another set of games within a couple of days.
I've updated the spreadsheet, but please note that we have a wildly variant range of results--some people haven't joined their second set of games yet (and they still have some time to do so within the 72-hour window), and others have finished those games already!
Needless to say, I haven't really figured out standings at all--doing that is a little more difficult than I'd like when some teams haven't even finished a game yet. I'm also trying to make it a little easier to track home/road/division records by writing a function for the spreadsheet. I started handling those records by hand, and the results are what you can see under the AL East, but even handling that was enough of a pain that I honestly think the code will be quicker if I can get it to work fairly quickly.
Keep those updates coming ...

Good game my friend.
Yankees manager Casey Stengel (lol) offered this to the media:
We just seemed startled in St. Louis … something about playing on the road there got to our guys, and we couldn't get over it. We'll just move on against KC, somewhere we're better at despite the current opponent, and take it from there.
(Translation: I had no idea what the hell I was doing on City Mogul).44

The St. Louis Browns continued to dominate the Yankees today, completing their three-game season-opening sweep as
Steve Stone grabbed the win.
Manager jwithington remarked, "Well, I gotta hand it to him, the.killing.44 is a gutsy, quick manager. He just had some bad luck with that suicide squeeze."
And indeed he did, as the Yanks' manager attempted to make good use of the arsonist, but was done in by (most likely) a horrendous auto-attack dice roll.

Hopefully, I'll be able to get into a particular routine as the season goes on and get games out on a fairly regular schedule. This week has just been ridiculously busy at work, so I haven't gotten the updates done on this tourney I would have liked.

OK folks, the next set of games are (finally) out. The spreadsheet has been updated, but the second and third posts of the thread haven't--expect that update later today/early tomorrow. Good luck, and enjoy!
As a general rule, I think you probably won't see games on a particular day, but I will try to send out series within 3-4 days of each other (i.e., after the 72-hour window for joining a series has passed).
