How often do you get genuine scum-tells day one though, it only ever happens on rare occurrences when someone is playing their first game and makes an actual slip-up. What a shame cena is the mod and not a player this time round as I would recommend him for the lynch...

I'm actually thinking of advocating more games starting at night 1 rather than day 1, like they do at epic mafia as games work better that way.

Theres lots of other games to play in.

and theres always a chance they can replace.

If a game starts with night, is day one actually productive? Seems to me like there still wouldn't be much evidence as to who the scum are.

True. Also, it would deter people from being inactive, 'cause there would be more than just random votes on day one. Sounds like a good idea, now that I think about it.

On a game related note, ani's playstyle is so unpredictable and strange that I'm not sure what to make of his apoology. Yes, he values his ass, but it could very well be a powerful pro-town ass. I'm leary of killing him off just yet.

still over there they still tend to do no lynch on day 1 so it is pretty much spotting the scum 2 kills.

That doesn't make sense. Sure townies can value their own asses especially if they have important roles, but it's one thing to value your ass and lay low and another to act so nice as to apologize for normal day 1 business not only to avoid retaliation/bandwagon but to also avoid any further suspicion.

I don't think it's that good an idea to start the game with night. It must work in RT, sure, but I think it still gives too much edge on scum in a regular game. Sure power roles can get more info but that doesn't mean someone is gonna pop up with an action-related lead right away, turning the day 1 in a normal starting day 1 where people vote randomly and townies get lynched. As for our day 1s being useless, I disagree. There might not be so many openings in a game full of good players but it's better to have this observation round even if it ends in a no lynch. Besides, in Newspaper day 1 was enough to get a Mafia Godfather lynched... Can't really say day 1 is useless on the town side after that

Ani, I'm afraid I'm not following. How are you any more likely to survive to the end than any other poeple?

Night-starts aren't very good, imho.
Also, about the 'ani trying to save his ass' thing, I think I agree with mr. incrediball. Townies are much less likely to try this because the realize they can still win after death. And a mislynch can always provide evidence, such as give us a list of suspects. Right now, we just had a bandwagon that got surprisingly long for a Day 1 random vote. One that was pushed along by ani.

This is a good point, but I still have a feeling that he could be a powerful pro-town role. I'll wait for ani to claim before I decide whether to vote him or not.

Actually, yes, that is a clause I should add in: townies are more likely to allow themselves to 'die for teh cause' but power roles will likely try to remain unnoticed and unlynched. I still doubt that ani would do that if he had a power role. Seems stupid to put that at such risk.
