I feel the need to post something inane yet ideally witty, but there are no topics in which I can do so. Oh the humanity!

Yeah... crazy policy decision if you ask me.
Sure, there's been a mega-fuck somewhere in the bowels of the SQL system, and that'll take some time to get sorted out, we understand that. We recognise that all our old threads aren't about to come back immediately and that a wait is in order.
But why the hell not just throw up a new forum that we can talk about OT stuff in? I mean, would that really have been so hard? Do people really want us OT-addicts hanging around in GD getting bored and picking fights with the dice-talkers? Really?
Y'know, forums fail, and they take time to fix... that's cool. But why the hell not just give us a a temporary shell of a forum in which to ply our regular trade? It takes almost no effort to do, and provides an almost complete fix for the problem until the Tuesday repairs can take place.

The creation of a new forum would take approximately 1-2 minutes to make and have all the permissions sorted out. When the old forum comes back, you delete the forum and have the threads moved, which can be done with a simple check box checked.

There isn't going to be another forum. We don't talk enough about dice probabilities and whether waterloo is a more balanced map than inner mongolia, or about the most fulfilling in-game chat we've ever experienced, or why unlimited fortifications is for losers. We don't fit in, and they want us gone. They were clever when they stopped the post count, which no one gave a f*ck about obviously, or no one with any sense, but it was the thin end of a wedge. A few degrees more heat under the ol' frog in a saucepan. And now our forum has gone.
hey! It's a maderchod CONSPIRACY THEORY! High five, juan! High five, jay! Now pass me that tinfoil, winter fast approaches and my bodkin is feeling the nip.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now, but them failing to put up a temporary forum within a day...I mean, as pointed out earlier it's an easy problem to solve. That said, I think they'd secretly sweep Flame Wars under the rug before TNYB.
