I'd vote for either one of the two options.

1. Scrap ratings and use the old Feedback system we all loved!

2. Create a hybrid where you can rate stars AND leave feedback!

again, i got another 3 for attendance by Genghis_Khan and a 3 for attitude. So I look at the game to try and figure out why I would have received such a low rating. I see nothing typed in game chat by me indicating nothing wrong with my attitude. I see I made every turn. Than I see in game chat that his team was complaining about missed turns on their own team. So I look at the players rating that missed a turn ( Aquarium) and what do you know, he left that player a 3 star as well.

So I guess me missing no turns has the same rating as a player missing turns. Seriously, this needs to be looked at.

I have another player that left me 1 star for attendance...again no missed turn. Now how does this get fixed? Can I fill out an e-ticket?

(*more than slightly amused by your plight* ) PM the guy and ask what he was thinking, already put that in your thread about this... just try to figure out what he was thinking, and if you are that upset, ask him to withdraw it. i mean, i'm sure if someone asked you to do the same, you would (ahem...).

JR, i agree with you fully... people are basing their decisions on what they feel is a good rating and it may not be what you think is a good rating. i just had a guy ask me to remove the 5's and one 4 i left him. he thought it was a "horrible" rating... ok... i withdrew it. at least with feedback, there was something tangible to understand why they left what they left... with this system, you have to PM them and hope they respond... however, i do believe you can submit an e-ticket. i believe i read that somewhere...-0

I hate this new rating system. It is far to subjective and vague to be of any use. I liked the old system but would be perfectly fine with a hybrid that lets you leave comments. Also note this is my first post. My dislike of this rating system has prompted me to break my silence.

I'll sign it. I played one game under the new system and got three stars for attendance where I missed no turns. I also received three stars for attitude in which no one said a word the whole game. If you miss no turns your attendance rating should be 5! If you never say anything how can you have "an attitude?" Ridiculous.

I like the rating system just how it is.

Stars make it much more simple for me, feedback was too much work.
So, sign me up for the "don't change the system again, I like the ratings and want them to stay exactly as they are" petition, if there is such a thing.

I love the new rating system, but unfortunately some people are abusing it terribly. If they don't like you, they will give you 1 star in everything, even if you had perfect attendance or played fairly or even if you kept a good attitude!

Take a look at this game. 2664127 I expect I'm going to get all 1 star from this guy simply because I disagreed with his "strategy" of using clickable maps to snipe people faster than their computer could load the page! He's giving me 1 star in attendance, why? I have no idea. 1 star in fair play why? No idea. I played fair the whole time... more fair than him anyway. I would accept maybe a 3 or 4 star in Attitude (even though I think I kept my cool pretty well.)

Is there going to be any attempts to stop this abuse?

people abused the old system too, but at least you could tell easier when it was nonsense, or when it was real. if you have a lot of ratings though, and they're all good except for this one guy, it won't bring your average down too much, and people can tell how you are in those aspects if everyone else gave you a 4 or 5, then he gives you a 1. people can usually. tell. once more ratings get given, this will mean about as much as 50+ and 1- in the old feedback. i wouldn't think too much of it.

Lol I got a 1 for attendance from Klobber.. despite him saying it was suspicious that I was taking my turns quickly Here? I guess there's just no hope for some people..

Edit: Looks like he's giving new recruits who don't take a single turn 5 stars for attendence too.. I don't think it's the system that's the problem though, just morons who abuse it.

If you play lots of games, one poorer rating should not really matter. If it bothers you, put the person on your ignore list.

I don't like the current system, but there is no way to really and truly eliminate subjectivity as long as it is people's opinion. Moderatng them really does not solve it, because then you are really just substituting the mods/ juries' opinions for the person who left the rating. That person may just have a different opinion.

straight attendance could be automated, but as for the rest.. we can't really look at moderation as the answer. Instead, we need a way to know how someone is rating ...
