Yeah, let's encourage everyone to skip their turns! By far the most retarded suggestion I've seen in the past months.

I think it'd be a good idea to add a skip turn button so that people who use this strategy don't have to
a) Make others wait and
b ) wait all day

I really think it would speed up gameplay and make CC more fun for everybody.

Ahaaa, so you are that kind of guy that misses their turn for 'tactical' reasons...
i'd say: miss turn button and NO army recovery for that !

I've rarely missed a turn and never on purpose.

Adding the button may slightly increase the number of people who skip turns, but that game will go quicker and you'd have some warning that they are going to use this strategy when the the Game Log says that a player skipped their turn.

Rolling Eyes

I'm sorry, I looked up and down the pending list a few times, but I just missed it.

I agree. You shouln't get your troops if you miss a turn, that should stop it.

I really dont think it's a good tactic, its far better to put the troops on the map, atleast you will protect that country.

I would say yes to the skip button, for those people who are a bit "stupid"
they don't slow the game, and other people could kill theyre countries easily.

But it would be a complete waste of time for the prgoramers to do the button.

So Resuming this , if the porgrammers dont have anything to do, Do this.

Vacation setting has already been suggested here:
http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2150

Spritzking makes a good point - even if armies are auto-delployed and there is a 1 hour delay between turns, in a 2-person game the dude who is not on vacation will take over.

I think the game must be stalled as usual to give vacationers a chance.

Or... God forbid, you could stop joining games a week or several days before you go on vacation as a courtesy to other players. I know it's heresy to suggest limiting the number of games a player starts; I'll go whip myself in a corner for a little while.

Freezing a game would completely screw a non-premium member. Not a good idea.

skip a turn?

I read again, that the game discourages users from missing a turn on purpose, and up till now I have not played against someone that did that every turn.
I must say it is annoying. I would rather they have a skip turn button to move the game along then have to wait 24 hours for their turn to expire since they know they are skipping.
Since the game changed the way skipped turn armies are added, can we just add the skip turn button. (though to be honest I don't see the difference.)

this has been suggested and rejected multiple times before due to its potential for abuse

Possibility to miss a turn at once

I just thought, that if there are some players who miss their moves intentionally, as part of the general strategy (which is a legitimate behavior) - why not to add to the gaming interface a button "Miss turn" - so that these players don't have to "wait" for 24 hours and slow down the game?

Don't encourage bad strategies.

If it's legal and it works, how is it a bad strategy?

Personally, it's not something I do. Why? Because I want to actually play, not sit around for weeks in a game just so that I get an advantage.

I suppose you might make a case for calling it a rude or annoying strategy, but I'm not so sure about "bad."

It may not be worth it to miss turns because you run the risk of losing armies. Defered armies are equal to the # of armies you get durring your current turn times the # of turns you missed. Say you have a some bonus. You miss a turn, and someone broke your bonus. You're out the armies you had from the bonus and possibly another army for territory count. If you had taken your turn, you would have had more armies to reinforce your position, or expand, and your bonus probably would not have been broken.

Missing turns is an awful strategy.

I Think that if someone misses his turn should get only half of the armies in deferred move... That would penalize him...
I've already lose some games with players that misses the turns as a strategy...and i think it's not a fair move

Pass this round

"Pass this round".
A check mark that could be made if you want to go to bed, take a vaccation, or just give up.
In either case the rounds with the remaining people would continue as before, only that the person who had checked this option, his turn would just be passed over, just like the time would have fast forwarded 5 minutes (speed) or 24 hours (normal).
All other rules could apply just as usual.

This is just like the "Resign" "Forefeit" or "Quit" buttons suggested before, and they have all been rejected.

BTW: If you come up with something original, be sure to use the form.

Any updates on this? I really hate making people wait on me, but certain situations in escalating games call for skipping a turn. It'd be nice to save everyone 24 hours.
