Re: D1 of The Reid technique Mafia Game
Of the flavour/poem there's quite a bit that implies 3 factions to me, also a vampire faction, also that results of night actions can be deceptive.
I don't mind players giving their interpretations/thoughts on flavour./poem.
Of the notable postings so far giving indications of players alignments;
Charle's lets get the mafia opening post is to me a bit stock in trade that Charle has posted as town or as mafia in the past.
Slight mafia leaning for me this game but very slight.
Halrob's cor blimey what a set up post is the most mafia leaning post for me so far, even though its not that strong after he explained it.
But his diversion/joining diversion onto Kong now has sort of rekindled my mafia suspicion of Halrob somewhat.
Kongs post - yes it was strange. I can't imagine why Kong posted it as Mafia right now.
I am thinking there probably was purpose to it from Kongs point of view though - and if so that could be nefarious.
Right now I'm happy for others to pressurise Kong, if they want to - but unless/until something else falls out from it - I won't be adding to the pressure with my vote.

I'm going to ignore Loose his opinion does not matter to me, also I'm going to ignore his analysis its for the birds, I will stick to my idea of lynching kongming3 only a low intelligence mafia scum would make such a post, thinking that respectable town folk would welcome him/her into the fold.

Everyone is silent.
From what I read "Reid Technique" is a dodgy interrogation technique.
I'm wondering if one player has a day role choosing a player to interrogate, Kong was chosen, and Kong had to say what sonic told him
to say - which in turn would be a clue about kongs role.

Weekends are always silent for me, lots of sport and drinking to do, and one thing I learned in my life, don't get online when you had too much to drink, most of the time you will regret it.
Anyway, it is still early days, but Rob, why do you see the post of Kong as scum?

Re: D1 of The Reid technique Mafia Game
Charlie,
I think it was the modelling himself on the everyday man, it just seem too sugary, I'm not sure an ordinary town person would want to try to ingratiate themselves in such a way.
So it came across as a mafia type wanting to sound like a town person

Loose,
I certainly think that the poem points to a doctor, with the white coat reference, maybe he/she has certain powers other that protector?
We have to be careful not to lynch the town doctor like we did last time as Ragian will testify to.
Yes maybe a vampire in there.
Do you get day roles in the game? That would be interesting also

There are many roles that are day roles, or at least have powers in both day and night.halrob64 wrote:Loose,

And also our crazy host is probably open to make his own roles, like that would be so SoN!c
Yeah its very silent here, not like last game, but we don't have like 2 of the most active members of the laste game in this one (sonic and chana).Loose Canon wrote:Everyone is silent.

But its D1 too, I hate hate hate D1, but ok maybe I have to start liking it.
Still feel like no lynch is the way to go, but maybe we get some claims out of peoples?
Or that did not work out good in last game, Halrob giving up that he was the cop made everything way easier for me when I was scum then.
So yeah maybe we do not put pressure without having at least something to go on.
Like kong's post is way to weak of a lead, if anything I would say that the post from him would make him town, since he is to good to post something like that as scum, but he is also good enough to do a doublebluff with it
But the last part of your post LC is intersting, frick, you probably are onto something there, shit like that feels soooooo SoN!c

Official vote vount:
KongMing (1) - Halrob
With 11 alive it takes 6 to lynch!
Official list of getting subbed - (you need to post 1 every 7 days)
/ getting an extra GOOOD PR REID TECHNIQUE N1

The Kongming controversy seems the main Day 1 wedge issue SOFAR. It seems manufactured because the method was Reid, the motive—unseen,
A truth to be crafted, not merely gleaned.
For when doubt is a tool and belief is sane or snare,
Who is the liar—the one questioned, or the one who prepares?
So tell me, observer, if reason’s your trade:
Who built the fire that burned the charade?
The poet who spoke, or the crowd who conspired—
Which one was framed, and which one inspired?

Re: D1 of The Reid technique Mafia Game
The One who will receive the extra gooood PR REID TECHNIQUE N1 will be decided on how high he scored in this poly test:
How much did you post on Day 1? (quantity)
Did you give good reasons tied to posts or just feelings? (quality)
Did you asked questions at others or did you simply defended yourselves? (social)
Did you used mirror phrasing by earlier posts (possible coordination)? (phrasing)
Did you resist meta arguments? (focus on game logic)
Did you lean on meta/experience? (meta bias)

Re: D1 of The Reid technique Mafia Game
@halrob64, it seems a bit too overeager to want to lynch someone based on one weird post to which we have no idea of the background. Maybe start by asking questions and then push using your vote. But first we go for a claim. Not a blind lynch.
Moreover, one must expect a very hands-on mod when Son!c is modding, so there's no way of saying that what he posted isn't mod directed. (And if it was given away in a poem, Haiku, Limerick, or something in that vein, I didn't bother...)
One thing I do know, however, is that no self-respecting scum - no matter how experienced - would waltz in here, drawing attention to themselves like that. Usually, scum stays quiet in the beginning to see how things unfold. Unless they have a psychological need to talk incessantly
That said, Strike is scum.

@Son!c, are you/will you be prodding players in this game in relation to activity?

Re: D1 of The Reid technique Mafia Game
And so either my theory on kongs post has legs or sonic leaned into it as if it does.
One thing to be extra cautious of re sonics latest post is he is implying either or is guilty/innocent.
I would think both interrogator and interrogee could be either guilty or innocent.

Re: D1 of The Reid technique Mafia Game
Ragian I think the same question to you, why Strike?
Re: D1 of The Reid technique Mafia Game
Well I won't be unlynching Kongming unless there is a clear indication he is town.
So I will ask Kongming 3 questions.
1) Are you an experienced player at mafia games?
2) Why did you feel the need to introduce yourself in such an archaic way that clearly would arouse comment and suspicion
3) Were you directed to post by Sonic as others are impying here?

Re: D1 of The Reid technique Mafia Game
I agree completely with Ragian, we need to push for a claim first. In that case, I think I am going to try a claim out of Rob first. Not that we want to reveal our roles this early, but he sounds the most scummy to me at the moment.

no not playing your game Charle I have been trying to inject a bit of activity into the proceedings while you spent the week on the bottle, lets focus on Kongming unless your trying to lead the trail away?
