Okie dokie it is time to get this tournament underway! We have gotten 78 players in the tournament so for each half map it will be 78 games or 4 games per player. I am going to be sending out 4 half maps today. So the 4 maps chosen are City Mogul 2, AOR2 2, Feudal Epic 2 and Middle Ages 1 I did think we were going to have all 2's to start with but the middle ages broke the trend.
So if all 78 players stick it out till the end I will need to send out 78*32*4 invites or 9984 just shy of 10k

Though based on the past I will almost certainly need to send out more than that due to making mistakes and players missing the odd invite. I also will be surprised if all 78 players make it to the end though I would love it if we all do go the distance
The scoreboard has been set up and the link has been added to the first post any questions or issues with it please let me know and I can fix or answer them

I have also randomised the 40 undecided picks of various players and so all of the predictions are now in and not subject to change. I hope you all had your precognition hats on or consulted your favourite oracle.
The most predicted map other than Random is Feudal Epic with 35 players who choose it as 1 of there 4 picks and 2 who had it randomly assigned to them for 11.86% of the competitors, joint 2nd for picks are New World and Jamaica for about 11% of the competitors. The Least popular map is the most recently quenched map of Krazy Kingdoms only 2% of competitors either picking it 4 or assigned it 2 for a total of 6. Followed by Labyrinth with only 8 players 6 and 2 and Middle Ages with 10 players 8 pickers and 2 assignees
Nick11,
Pelagic and
TODRICH have all picked the 3 most popular maps along with 1 of the 2 joint 4th AYBABTU or Antarctica so maybe being the group average will pay off for them alternatively picking the most of the bottom maps are
Clanlord Carl and
TheLord both of which have picked 3 of the least picked maps. So maybe being confident where less people are will pay off better
Great news everyone you are all in joint first

let's see who can keep it up and stay in first once the games start to finish
Good luck in the games ahead and I do hope everyone enjoys the games

Don't be afraid to reach out if you have any questions or comments on the tournament. Now I am going to go send out 1248 invites

Ok all of the games have started even with the slight delay to a few of the games I should really learn not to send out invites at the weekend but it is normally easier on me

So I have wo far sent out 1345 invites for this tournament
So just over a 3rd of the games have finished though it is not yet time for a new set of games to be sent out. There have been 2 accidents :/ or 2.61% of the games. there has also been our first objective win by
Ukey on city mogul not the map I thought would have objective wins tbh but hey ho.
Leading the tournament so far is
Xroads on 24 points, 6 wins 3 of them they predicted

just 1 point behind is
ESQuire on 23 points, 5 wins of which 2 were predicted and in 3rd is
DBandit70 on 22 points and also 5 wins all of which they predicted

and they can potentially predict 6 more this round of maps
So looks like DBandit70 is the one to catch for the GA medal
Continued Good luck and fun in the games and I will probably send out new games beginning of next week depending on how the games play out over the weekend

Thanks I have to update them anyway at some point and doing it everyday as long as I am not busy works for me
Not sure what you mean by expand the description of the tables? Is there something unclear on the scoreboard?

I have no issue with the descriptions. Maybe xroads uses mobile? I'm on desktop.
I'm also looking forward to the next score update!

Okie dokie 2/3rds of the games finished and it is a new week so I have sent out 2 more map choices for 8 new games per player. I hope people are enjoying the Middle Ages games as we are playing the 2nd batch of them as well as the first load of Krazy Kingdoms games.
Ok time for the leaders favourite part of the update

Sitting pretty at the top of the mountain is
DBandit70 with 33 points 7 wins all of which they predicted, so on track for taking down both medals

but a while to go to keep that up. In 2nd is
RKCVED on 30 points also 7 wins but only predicted 6 of the 7, however they have 4 more active games than DBandit does so has a better average points and win percentage. In 3rd we have 3 different people
XRoads,
TheLord and
ESQuire, all on 25 points but with 6,6,5 wins and predicted 3,2,2 respectively.
Onto a bit more of an esoteric statistic 7 players have yet to die: RKCVED, Ukey, SuperSian, Fuatpanza, Juke, Wile E Coyote and Kazher. Who will be the last survivor and be aware if any of them is your target as it may be a tricky proposition. Alternatively the player with the most deaths are DrElijah and FriendlyMe so maybe they need to stop walking directly at their assassins as they have a 50% death rate of 8 out of 16 games they have died in

There are also 9 players who are yet to get a win though it is still early so I am sure they are all just taking the slow and steady route.
Well that concludes today's spiel, so please all accept the invites and I hope you all have fun and have good luck unless I am set to assassinate you

A week passed and I felt like sending out some more games

I decided to send out 3 choices this time round; Jamaica, Labyrinth and Kings Court 2 all of which is the 2nd batch.
28% of the tournament games have been sent out with about 14% of the games having finished. So we are approaching the 3rd way mark

or about 10-12 weeks left at our current pace.
Now onto the scores

we have 7 players who have crossed 40 points. At the top is
RKCVED on 48 points 12 kills of which they predicted 7 (which is the highest prediction so far), Next up is
Ukey 42 points only 10 kills 4 predicted. Joint 3rd are
Luxbock,
Devante and
Juke all on 41 points with 11,10,8 kills predicting 1,4,6 respectively. Last but not least of the 40 pointers is
Plurple and
DBandit70 on exactly 40 points with 11 and 9 kills each but with the full spread of predictions as I have 0 predictions and DB has the joint most on 7
There are just 2 players who have yet to make a kill
Hamalech and
Gorehound so hopefully they can find a sharp weapon or something and spill some blood. Though everyone has died at least once so we are all zombies now commiserations everyone.
Good luck in the games all have fun and accept the invites swiftly for me

So I can keep my invite counter down is already at 2905!

Thanks for the updates, plurple!
I had an unfortunate experience recently: a player who was not my assassin was taking 30-50 armies from me over multiple turns in Feudal Epic, until we both lost the game. I went to give them a rating afterwards and realised, I'd already given them all one stars and had added them to my foe list previously! Perhaps it was a vindictive play, or simply characteristic of why I'd rated them accordingly in the past. Happens, I guess.

Sorry to hear that. Maybe they misread their opponent. Either way with the number of players in the tournament hopefully you won't need to play with them too often

Report for throwing the game

I went through our match history and discovered the reason why I'd rated him so low previously - very similar issue, actually. It was an escalating auto-tournament, semi-finals I believe, and said player (Vinpod) was constantly just killing any stack in front of him. Threw every single game, obviously. Seems to be his playstyle, if you can call it that.

Thanks Glad you are enjoying the tournament still a way to go with the current one I probably will with a few tweaks

like the maps I do badly on getting axed

Will probably be 6 player as well not sure I really like 4 player as much

Parachute is a nice touch for some of these maps, like King's Court II and Krazy Kingdoms. Six player would change the game dynamically. I feel like a lot of the popular maps right now would be less viable.

Not sure what you mean? I have played most of the maps 6 player I think, and they all work fine

I just feel odd having two ships on Jamaica

My primary thought was that the games would be played quite differently, and the tournament would take longer. Perhaps none of the maps would be less viable - my inexperience showing there. I think some maps like Feudal Epic and King's Court II would be a lot nicer in 6p rather than 4, actually. However, I think more players equates to more luck.

TBF I only picked 4 player for this as I had been running 6 player a lot recently and thought it might be nice for a change, but think I prefer 6 player

So should just lean into it
