This has changed a lot from the OP and is just starting to confuse people. ( Me at least)

Correct. We'll try and keep changes to a minimum. I will ask uckuki to send all clans that already signed-up a PM about the changes when they have been decided. Then they can decide to stay in or not.

Voted for best of 3 series.
I'm sure my reasons have been mentioned, but my tupenny worth. I thought it better represent the challenge i.e. more a "1v1" battle at poly. Not a traditional clan challenge. I think it would be very harsh to lose a 1v1 poly match in just 1 game of poly (2).
Particular if it was against josko going 2nd in unlim. I think there should be some restriction on unlim. Maybe on dubs? A total ban on dubs u/l for non conquest? Wait I requested dubs unlimited for arms race, surely that should be all right?

I voted best of 3 too. Now that I understand what it means ( thx IcePack, sorry uck for not reading properly the OP): That's an awesome idea !
@nippersean, what about, we restrict it on a serie ? Like among one serie, only 1 unlimited games among the 3 ?

I hope we don't have to do separate discussion & votes in CDF. we are doing an ok job here. best of 3 series it is (13 votes vs 2).
I'll contact those clans who signed up earlier to confirm they are ok with the new set-up, once we have the details.
The only question would be if a player can have 2 series of 3, can he repeat in his series? Or each series from same player must be different maps
map limit only for individual players - no repeats. we decide player limit depending on number of series. lets do another poll to decide number of series. we can keep it the same, lower it, or maybe do a scale, increasing number of series with every round. I'll create a new poll.
Other limits: limit trench to max 30% of home games, round limits optional? unlimited: not sure, whatever majority wants. is there a limit a lot of people would like imposed. if not, we can do no limits.

I think the only change was 5 games per series to 3?

Why not just keep it to 41 matches, best of 3.
The progressive scale was suggested in tandem with single games, not a best of series.
A player should be restricted to 2 home and 2 away series per match.
No limit on trench
Unlimited forts only to be allowed in the Poly Quads (4)

Something like this. Please keep changes to the original format to a minimum now that there are sign-ups.
[Edit, posted before I finished....] Seems to me that the main issue was the game load. Changing to the best of 3 series solves that. Let's see if we can leave it at that and not reinvent the whole format based on a few remarks.

If the main issue was game load then I dont understand why teams signed up. You could tell from the OP that it was a bucket load of games.
If it becomes best of three games I think it will dilute the original idea.

I think big issue is trying to restrict unlimited fort games.
For ones voicing to restrict it because it gives big advantage to the first player, why is that problem? If someone make his home game with unlimited Poly(2) he is only giving 50% to win by opponents in his HOME map. So he wasted his home advantage and is playing dumb because he should instead use home map advantage to some map/settings where he has more than 50% chance to win.
Also, I totally disagree that unlimited fort is giving huge advantage to first player, at least for Poly (3) and Poly (4) where I am playing it often and my team is winning more than 80% of the time regardless if we are playing first or second. I challenge anyone who supports restriction of unlimited forts for Poly (3) to best of 3 versus me on ww2 europe map and I guarantee that I will win regardless of playing first or second. That is because these settings are very challenging and require high strategy skills, at least for Poly (3) and Poly (4) settings. I maybe may accept it is too luck based for Poly (2), but it is really not luck based for Poly (3) and (4).

limits or lack of are always an issue. everybody wants a different thing. as a result we have a different set up in pretty much all competitions. it can be unlimited here or zombies someplace else. there is no way we can get a consensus. I an not a big fan of the whole you can use 2 of these and 3 of those scheme. lets make it simple and have no limits on spoils & forts. that way we don't have to worry about violations & penalties

Ace is in for the 3 game series (if that is where I see it heading). Slaylark and Williams5232 will head it up for us.

tx.
I can't really start signups until number of sets is locked in. so far 40 + 1 has the votes.

Wow I blink and this kicked off.
ATN are happy with series of 3 not 5, one each of poly 2-3-4. Happy to leave at 41 series per round with cap of max 2 home and 2 away per person. Stick with minimum 12 players per clan?
Trench - no limit on trench - the whole point of home games is to allow people to pick their preferred settings, telling some members they can't have them seems unfair.
Unlimited - I think no restriction - tbh my guys have only picked 1 or 2 unlimited anyway...
Overall the less restrictions then the simpler it is for clans to pick their games etc...

SIGNUPS are open.
we'll stay with 41 series, with max 4 series per player. no limit on trench and unlimited.

Really. Polymorphic games didn't come in until October 2013. Can't remember any meaningful discussion since then.
