It's just a game. If you are that upset about losing games you won, maybe you should take a couple minutes and rethink the direction your life is taking you.

Database crashes happen to everyone. Fixing them promptly is the sign of a good organisation. Thank you tech team for giving up a night of sleep so we can play Conquer Club this morning!

And thank you BigWham for a clear and prompt announcement about it!

Why not just pick up where you left off at?!!

This "roll back" (which is BS), might cause a winning game to turn into a losing game.

Terrible management and structure by the Conquer Club Staff.

I'm not sure you understand the situation.

Due to a data loss in one of our core system tables, games were unable to be played. The only way to restore functionality was to restore the database from a backup.

"Picking up where we left off at" wasn't an option.

I do apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused and we are taking steps to increase the frequency of backups, which will help to minimize the lapse in a restoration should a similar event occur in the future.

By the way, thanks for fixing everything so fast. I think it's a shame a lot of players react so emotionally and narrow minded. This things happen, and the fact that you guys repaired it in such a short time is amazing. Here's a smiley for you. :ugeek:

Thanks tech team, excellent effort. =D>

Btw, I had a better roll this time, so apparently this timeout doesn't have to be negative for all players.

Just to note: This wasn't caused by an update. Database corruption is something that happens occasionally. (To put it in perspective, the last time CC had data loss like this was in 2010).

As far as I remember then only the messages were lost due to reaching primary key limit... back then only data from 1 table wasn't being recorded, now you guys now lost the whole Database. Sorry but that bug is not comparable to today's ;). Today 24 hours old backup was restored, then the bug was fixed on the fly.

Out of curiosity... Did you make us all Conquerors or Cooks :)

Well done getting back to speed. You did a great job.

I'm not surprised that this game has so many whiney bitches.

this was painful but understandable. As consolation you guys could give a unilateral points bump to everyone that had a active game that was effected :-D or not either way thanks for the prompt fix.

I'm aware of the problem you faced tech team, you did an excellent job restoring everything so quickly. As Blake has said, they will look into backing up the system more frequently =D>

During the period lost, somebody in tech restored my dice adjustment to 'normal'. A previous owner had given me a negative dice-adjustment for not believing God is 'Merican.

Please can it be set to 'normal' again? Then I can re-win the lost games I won first-time-around. ;)

Thanks

O:)

Thanks for getting the site back up and running so quickly -- I can only imagine the screams if the data had last been backed up a year ago ... or never ...

While I'm a little confused by all the fawning over a database restore, these responses are just ridiculous... :?
