I read the essay, and frankly, I don't find it disturbing at all. Sure, some stuff their would probably be completely lost on a teacher, the computer game references for example, or the green day quote, making the teacher think a deranged psychopath had written it. I don't know what the assignment said exactly, but it certainly fits well with "not censoring ones ideas and writing whatever comes to ones mind".

Personally i think they should throw the teacher in jail, and put him/her in a cell with Bubba/Bubbette. Cheers.

That teacher is scum, and they are going to recieve a great deal of backlash from the students aroung the school, you can trust me on that. Of course that depends on the Feeling and thoughts other students have on Allen Lee.
I was suspended once for a creative writting easy I handed in, it wasn't filled with profanity, but it dealt with death and apathy towards victims of violence, and that teacher ended up failing me when my class and I all thought I should've gotten a really high mark. she was a victim of some very creative pranks in the following weeks. It was a good leason for me to learn though. Don't believe what any authority figure ever says, and tell them only what they want to hear. Keep your private thoughts to yourself.
As the clash sang in "Know your rights" -
You have the right to free
Speech as long as you're not
Dumb enough to actually try it!
Ha!
this link shows the Marines rejecting Allen Lee's application for enrollment. I feel that is the most fair final consequence he should face, I agree with it %100, and with that, the charges should dropped

I really hope he doesn't lose other credits over this, but no doubt he'll fail that class specifically.

...dude this was at Cary-Grove High School...this place is like 30 minutes tops from where I live...in fact our varsity tennis team played these guys about a week ago...
anyway about the essay...I think he had the right to write all of that except the last sentence (something like) "don't be surprised if you inspire the first CG shooting"...he just completely crossed the line with that right there

Right that is right there hinting that it will take place at the school by using the school's initials. The idiots defending this king of idiots can go to school with him, but if I had a child at that school I would yank them out right away and encourage them to expel this sicko.

OK, here we go. The Constitution of the United States of America should inspire us to rise up against tyrants. Bush has placed himself above our laws, raped our constitution, sent our young men off to die so his Halburton (sp?) stock can go up, etc. I would like to formally offer my encouragement and support to anyone who has the balls to assassinate that phony Texas cracker accented wanker. *cocks head and listens for sirens in the distance*

Alas, if we assasinated Georgey, we would be left with none other than Big-Time Dickead Cheney.

from my point of view if someone assassinated Bush, everyone would view him as a "hero" of our country despite what he has done.
best course of action is to impeach him and get on with our lives

How can we impeach him when we have so many morons that love the smell of his shit?

I'd have to see a source on that one - something sounds screwy there.

oh yeah and guys I just realized this...VT happaned like, last monday the 16th... and that was also the day this essay was assigned. (I think...) so there was no way VT could have influenced this kid's writing. In fact, a reporter asked him about it and he said "there were no outside influences." However, he is being punished based on the fear of what happened at VT. Maybe mentioning a CG shooting should get him in trouble, but if he had no influences in his writing, then neither should his punishment.

To arrest a student for writing an essay, and i don't give a flying f*ck what he wrote in the essay, or who he was "influenced" by, is a crock of shit! You pathetic, scared sheep, will you pawn off what little freedoms we have left to make yourself feel safe?

I think the answer to that question is yes, they will. It's not the first time. Look at the PATRIOT act!
