I mean letting United bombard S5, Delta bombard N6, etc. I added new instructions in the lower right and updated the bonuses.

I like the idea and everything but you could increase the terit count and make many other interesting features if you made it a airport like JFK or LaGaurdia...

Um, I'm pretty sure the point is the maker is from Seattle and would like to make the map about an airport from there. Nicely looking map so far

Right on

And most of the other airports I looked at were either blocky and boring, or separated into disconnected terminals, and I didn't know how to make those playable without introducing some artificial gameplay elements.
Besides, screw JFK airport.
edbeard wrote:a one-way attack would be better I think.
You don't think it would make the garage/main terminal too powerful?

Updated with ninth draft (see first post).
Gameplay Changes:
- Ticket counters can now bombard outside territories. This should make the center, specifically the parking garage, a viable option.
- Reduced bonuses for coffee shops.
Graphic Changes:
- More previews for background color (also on first page)
- Redid the entire lower half, for consistency in style.
Edit: image bigified

Could you post the image directly? I would prefer being able to see the full-size image than a thumbnail

I was pretty skeptical when I first looked at this map, but it's fun and clever. This is one of the few new maps that is actually being developed with an eye on the elements that are necessary for gameplay, like impassable borders and clear attack routes. I like.
Keep in mind that the small version will be 75% this size - that sea of text will be unreadable. While I think it's a brilliant idea, it may not be practical.

I really liked this map and am glad that you are back at it.
I do have a question about names however.
Can all of teh airline names be used?
Do we need permission from them?
What about Starbucks?
Also since the army circles will be filled with numbers, you might want to remove all of the logos inside them.

Thanks for the words of support guys! It means a lot, really.
I'll be working on a preliminary small image, just to be sure that it's possible. There's a lot of stuff in the large image that's not strictly necessary. (Unfortunately all in the vertical direction)
WidowMakers wrote:I do have a question about names however.

Very good questions, and ones that unfortunately I don't have the answers to. It would be great to hear from an authority on the subject.
A bigger issue is, is there any problem with using the Sea-Tac name and terminal layout? We had a short discussion about that earlier but I don't think there was a definitive conclusion.
WidowMakers wrote:Also since the army circles will be filled with numbers, you might want to remove all of the logos inside them.
I tried to make them faint enough that they won't mess with play. Unless they make the numbers harder to read, I might as well leave them in, right? They will still show up on the map browser/previews...

Here's a preliminary draft of the small version. It's a bit messy and missing a train, but it should give the general idea.

OK, I've had a brief look over the legend, and think that things could be made a little clearer... I understand that the circles with inscribed letters refer to the bonus regions, but it's not a completely intuitive connection... perhaps you could replicate the labels on each region of the map?
Where are the ticket barriers, and how do they bombard? Are you referring to some sort of killer neutral? I think I know what you really mean by this, but I'm just playing Devil's advocate... While the language fits that of an info-boards, it isn't as clear as it needs to be.
How are you going to name the Coffee shops? ie. How will I know which Starbucks is which

(incidentally, I think Coffee Club would be a good name if you were looking to rebrand them!)

More likely that the map thread has been around since April 2007...

It would appear that development of this map has stalled (again). If the mapmaker wants to continue with the map, then one of the CAs will be able to help put the thread back into the Foundry system,
after an update has been made.

Yes, it has. My apologies. I decided to suspend development until I could figure out the copyright issues (which I have been admittedly very lazy about...) But I haven't forgotten about this map! It'll just be on the back burner for now; if everything goes smoothly I should be done by 2018.
