A valid concern. Actually the algorithm does take this into account.
This is what it looks like on my page:

Min Delta per Win/Loss [value = 200] Win Rate of 50.001% adds/subtracts this value from opponent's score
Max Delta per Win/Loss [value = 600] Win Rate of 100% adds/subtracts this value from opponent's score. For values inbetween, Delta = Min + 2*(Win Rate%-50%)*(Max-Min)

By default, I have min at 200 and max at 600. When you load the page, it will always have these values, but you can edit them on the page. This means that the least amount of additional points you get from a win is 200 (even if you barely win), and it can go up to 600 depending on the win margin.

If you have min set to 0, then it will be like how you thought it was (i.e. barely winning is nearly equivalent to barely losing). I tried it out with both values and decided the results looked better with min = 200.

There are two ways you can decide what to use for values here, those that maximize model accuracy and those that seem right. The ideal way would be to measure model accuracy given every combination of min/max values (just keep max at 600 and vary min would work). Then choose the value of min which resulted in the highest model accuracy. I think there wasn't enough data at the time for a comparison of model accuracy to be compelling either way.

Model Accuracy calculation is built in, btw.

Say you completed a 60 game war yesterday.

It counts for 60 weight points today. In 6 months, it will only count for 75% (45 points). In one year, it will count for 50% (30 points). In 1.5 years it will count for 25% (15 points).

So the amount of weight points a clan has doesn't just keep increasing. Each day their weight points shrinks a little because their wars are getting older and decaying. After a long enough period of inactivity, every clan's weight points will drop to below 150 and they will not show up on the ranking. This system is necessary to prevent clans from resting on their laurels for too long.

can anyone say where WAR will be on the list after winning our first 2 clans wars vs 1st Reg and OSA?

I have no idea. I'll be pretty prompt on getting the ranking out at the first of each month so you won't have to wait....if you qualify.

Clan leagues have usually been included in, but with the recent changes put into place to make 12 game rounds instead of the 18 of cl3, a call will need to be made on what it's ultimate effect will be.
Thats why I advocated inputting the results of the CD tourney, since that would have a direct relationship on how these clan league games would be dealt with.

What CD Tourny are you referring?

Probably the random tournament... I don't think that should really be included. Clan's were allowed to use all players and only in 1 round.

I'm not going to count the Random leagues. I'd like to count the CL though.

FD worked out some weird halving thing or something, I think it works on actual wins tho, so you should win the war for official ranking purposes?

I was talking more along the lines of the scoring (2 pts for trips/quads, 1 for dubs, 1 for singles matches?)

FD just halved the score for the ACC since the score is calculated by points, and not wins.

Gonna be some changes to the release date of the rankings. The new rankings will now show up in the Dispatch Newsletter before they are posted in the forum. Leehar approached me with the idea and I thought it was a great way to get everybody more involved with the Newsletter.

So, if you haven't already, subscribe to the Dispatch to you can get the first look at the ranking! I think February's will be out at the beginning of the month but March's won't be out until the middle of the month.

It seems like the dispatch issue dates are inconsistent enough that it will be irritating to not know when rankings will be available. Previous dates have been Jan. 3, Dec. 21, Nov. 30, Nov. 16, Nov. 1, Oct. 22, Oct. 5.... is there a pattern?

They try to release them every other week but sometimes they can't, hence the shifts of patterns.

My release dates will always be the same regardless of when the dispatch comes out. I'm just going to give them an opportunity to publish it in the dispatch first. I would say that the F400 will be posted in the forum around the 20th or so.

We did away with the cover charge and instead made that a requirement for admission.
What do you have against drunken elves anyway?

Gotdamn, I thought that cam was off now.

the info gathered is amazingly complex to then convert to this chart, i am just glad we are in there just by our teeth, looking forward to moving on up good luck all this and watch out for us
